1. Borhan is a newly registered OUM student. He was very motivated


when he first joined OUM. Lately, however, Borhan has become
demotivated as he finds learning difficult. For example, he finds it
extremely hard to concentrate on his studies when revising at home as
he is always thinking about work.

(a) Explain to him, the 3-step process that he can utilize to improve
his concentration. Provide relevant examples to illustrate each
step. (9)

(b) During a discussion with his tutor, Borhan identifies that one of
his other problem is that he does not have realistic goals in his
learning. Explain to him the FIVE step approach to setting
realistic goals in learning. Provide relevant examples to
illustrate each step. ( 11 )

Borhan ialah seorang pelajar yang baru sahaja mendaftar di OUM. Pada
awalnya, dia mempunyai motivasi yang tinggi untuk belajar. Tetapi sejak
kebelakangan ini, motivasi Borhan telah menurun kerana kesukaran
belajar. Contohnya, Borhan menghadapi masalah untuk menumpukan
pelajaran di rumah kerana dia kerap memikirkan tentang kerja.
(a) Jelaskan kepada Borhan 3 langkah yang patut diambil untuk
memulihkan konsentrasi Borhan pada pelajaran. Berikan contoh-
contoh yang relevan untuk menggambarkan setiap langkah.

(b) Ketika satu diskusi di kelas bersama tutor Borhan mendapati beliau
tidak mempunyai matlamat pembelajaran yang realistik. Jelaskan
kepada Borhan LIMA langkah yang patut diambil untuk membuat
matlamat realistik bagi pembelajarannya. Berikan contoh-contoh
yang relevan bagi menggambarkan setiap langkah.

Benefits of Internet Marketing

1. Far Cheaper and Much More Flexible Than Print Advertising

The Internet is extremely different from print advertising in that


space is cheap, your advertisement is accessible for a longer period
of time, the content can be changed without having to ask someone
to do it for you (if you use a content management system) and you
can potentially reach a wider audience.

2. Market Expansion

The Internet has allowed businesses to break through the


geographical barriers and become accessible, virtually, from any
country in the world by a potential customer that has Internet access.

3. Improve credibility

A website gives you the opportunity to tell potential customers what


you are about and why you deserve their trust and confidence. In
fact, many people use the internet for pre-purchase research so that
they can determine for themselves whether a particular supplier or
brand is worthy of their patronage, and won't take them for a ride.

4. Available 24 365

No more turning customers away when its time to close shop,


putting up a note saying "closed for public holiday", or leaving an
irritating message on your answering service specifying your trading
hours. Tell them to visit your website for information they are
looking for.

5. Offer Convenience

It is far more convenient for a person to research a product on the


Internet than it is to get in a car, drive somewhere and look for or
ask someone for information on a product. Also, a potential
customer won't have to judge a call centre agent to determine
whether he/she has their best interests in mind, or just wants to make
a sale. The potential customer can visit your website whenever they
like in their own privacy and comfort, without the stresses and
distractions that exist in the "real world".

Faedah-faedah Pemasaran melalui Internet


1. Lebih murah dan flexibel dari iklan bercetak
Internet amat berbeza dari iklan bercetak kerana ruang iklan di internet
adalah lebih murah, iklan dapat diakses lebih lama dan maklumat boleh
diubah tanpa perlu bertanya kepada sesiapa (sekiranya anda menggunakan
sistem pengurusan isi kandungan) dan anda berpotensi untuk menjangkau
lebih ramai orang.

2. Pengembangan pasaran

Internet telah membenarkan banyak peniagaan untuk menembusi


halangan-halangan geografi dan menjadi lebih mudah diakses secara maya
dari mana-mana negara didunia oleh pembeli yang mempunyai akses
internet.

3. Memperbaiki Kredibiliti

Laman web memberi peluang pada anda untuk memberitahu pembeli-


pembeli yang berpotensi berkenaan syarikat dan kenapa anda berhak
mendapat kepercayaan dan keyakinan mereka. Ramai telah menggunakan
internet untuk membuat penyelidikan sebelum membuat pembelian untuk
menentukan samada seseorang pembekal atau sesuatu jenama patut di
mendapat perhatian mereka dan tidak akan ditipu.

4. Bersedia 24 365

Tiada lagi masalah menolak pelanggan kerana masa untuk tutup kedai
sudah tiba, menampal notis ‘tutup untuk cuti umum’, atau meninggalkan
mesej yang menjengkelkan di mesin jawapan untuk memberitahu masa
perniagaan. Hanya beritahu pelanggan anda untuk mengunjungi laman
web anda untuk sebarang maklumat yang diperlukan.

5. Tawaran Kemudahan

Adalah lebih mudah untuk seseorang untuk menyelidiki sesuatu produk di


internet dari menaiki kereta, membawanya kesuatu tempat dan
menanyakan kepada seseorang informasi tentang produk tersebut.
Pelanggan yang berpotensi juga tidak perlu menghakimi agen di pusat
panggilan untuk menentukan samada dia memikirkan tentang kebaikan
anda atau hanya sekadar ingin menjual produk. Pelanggan yang berpotensi
akan melawat laman web anda bila-bila sahaja pada masa yang sesuai

3. (a) Roy got really low marks for his assignment because he had
plagiarised. Explain to him THREE ways that can help him
avoid from committing plagiarism in the future. (9)

(b) Paraphrase the given passage below in ONE sentence and put in
proper in-text citation using the APA referencing format.

University students need help to develop their writing skills for a


number of reasons. Firstly, many students, both school leavers,
and mature age, may come to university with inadequate previous
educational experiences in relation to literacy. Secondly, the
writing demands and writing tasks at university may differ
markedly from students' previous writing experiences at school or
at work. Thirdly, the context in which university writing takes
place often provides little guidance for students who are expected
to be autonomous, independent and able to manage their time and
learning tasks.

4. Lim’s tutor informed her that she needs to read a book entitled
‘Learning and teaching in higher education : The reflective
professional’ by Greg Light for her assignment. The tutor also informs
Lim that the book is available at OUM’s physical library. Lim,
however, needs help in retrieving the call number of the book from
OPAC.

(a) As a caring classmate, provide a detailed explanation to assist


Lim in retrieving the call number using OPAC. Utilize author (11)
search in your explanation.

(b) Lim has found a journal entitled “Reflection in Practice” by


Freda McKay for her assignment. During her tutorial, her tutor
emphasizes on the importance of evaluating information before
utilizing it in assignments. Explain to Lim THREE evaluation
criteria that she can utilize to view the suitability of the journal ( 9)
for her assignment.
