Projects
1. Final Semester Project: Development of Verification Manual for STRUDS (STRUCTURAL DESIGN
SYSTEM), software developed by SOFTTECH ENGINEERS (P) Ltd., PUNE.
2. Finite Element Analysis – 1-D and 2-D Structures :
The project aims at development of a software tool for the analysis of one dimensional structural member
such as beams, trusses and frames, and 2-D structures using Triangular and Rectangular elements, Torsion,
Axis symmetric problems. Finite Element Method which can be used for analysis of any structural member by
Discretisation of Domain, Analyzing and Reassembling, has been the basis of designing the algorithm of this
software. The programming language used is C++.
3. Kit for Analysis and Design of Structure (KADs-R1) :
KADs-R1 is an integrated software tool used for the analysis and design of various structural components such
as rectangular beams, T-beams, slabs, columns and footings etc. The tool is designed keeping the guidelines
of IS: 456-2000 into consideration. Work for incorporating the analysis and design of more complicated and
composite structural members is presently in progress .The back end of this is developed in C++ and front end
in Visual Basic.
4. A Database management system for construction management and planning
This is a Database Management System for engineers on construction sites which provide them with the
useful information pertaining to their day to day requirements such as material availability, activities due on a
particular day, material and labour requirements etc. It also provides information regarding the schedules and
plans for the project. (Front end – VB, Back end – MySQL)
5. Java Multiple FILE SERVER:
This project implements a multiclient, multiple file format server across a network. A client sends a request
to the Master Server, which carries out the request if the file is present in its machine. Else, the Master Server
transfers the request to three Server Slaves one by one in turn thereby serving the client's request and displays
the file, provided at least one relevant file of that name and extension exists. Otherwise, a "file not found"
message is displayed. If more than one such file exists in different folders the first one that comes up in the
directory tree is displayed.
6. Integrated Building Design Project:
A. P. Pollution Control Board, Hyderabad is coming up with its new Head Office Building at Sanath
Nagar, Hyderabad. Proposed Building is a R.C.C. Frame structure (Basement, Ground + 2 floors). Scope of
this project included Architectural, Structural and Project Management Design for construction of this
building. Modelling and Analysis of the structure was done in STAAD-III and structural elements were
designed in self developed package KADs-R1 and STAAD.
(Software: MSP 2000, STAAD, Radiance, AutoCAD 2000 etc.)
7. SFBM-Plotter :
Development of a module for analysis of beam under various types of loading conditions (Point loads, Udls,
Linearly varying loads and Moment couple). (Language: VC++ )
