MOTIVATION
One Monday morning, a little child asked to us: why the colours exist? That was the beginning of a discussion into the classroom. There where a lot of
theories.
At the end, we decided to investigate that subject in class. We invested 2 sessions per week, during two weeks, discovering colours around the classroom,
learning colour’ songs and playing them in front of the camera. The story “SMALL BLUE, SMALL YELLOW” brought us the opportunity to explore how to
melting colours in a big paper in order to create new colours. Finally, we had the occasion of playing with colours, in a computer.

We would like to remark that the main target of the whole topic was oral expression.

1st session: Look at the previous ideas of colour and introduction of the new English words: The name of the basic colours, (whole group)

With the help of a puppet and some images projected at the screen, we will do a quick review of the colours. Then we will introduce the name of each colour
in English to our children projecting the images at the screen.
After that, we will invite the children to go around the classroom searching objects with the same colour that appears at the screen and put them at the
correspondent corner of the classroom. At the end of the session, each children will be given a balloon.

Material needed: A puppet, one balloon per kid, sweets or M&M’’s bag.

3erd session: Now, It’s time to listen a story (whole group)

Today, the puppet want to tell us a story: LITTLE BLUE, LITTLE YELLOW.
This is a story about two little kids who after been melted, couldn’t be recognised by their respective parents. Only after the rain, they were again accepted by
them.
That nice story will help us to teach children how basic colours turn onto new ones. Furthermore, emotions like happiness, sadness, love will appear through
the story.
After the story, we will invite children to experiment the changes of the colours with watercolours
At the end of the session, each children will be allowed to take their work.

Material needed: The story of the “LITTLE BLUE, LITTLE YELLOW”, video or ppt presentation “LITTLE BLUE, LITTLE YELLOW, a big piece of white paper,
and watercolours.
