Benefits
What We Offer.
Nike’s generous employee benefits package ranks among our greatest perks. In fact, here’s
how our US benefits stack up against other Fortune 500 companies:

 Medical, life insurance and disability plans are all above the 80th percentile of
competitor companies.
 Our time-off plans are ranked #1 when compared to our competitor companies.
 Unlike most of our comparator companies, Nike has kept its discounted stock
purchase plan with a full 15 percent discount and look-back period.
Our competitive benefit program provides employees with the opportunity to stay fit, ensure
the wellness of their families, and create a positive working environment. That is why every
region provides for variable medical coverage, a performance sharing plan, fitness center
memberships, time off, retirement, and more.

Benefits
Health, Life & Disability Coverage
Employees can choose from a variety of health plans provided by Nike, which include
competitive packages for medical, dental and vision coverage. If you have coverage
elsewhere, you can opt out of Nike medical coverage. In addition to your medical coverage,
Nike believes in preventative care, which is why many full time employees are provided
access to on-campus gym memberships or nearby facilities.

Full-time US employees are automatically covered by basic life insurance starting on their
first day of work. You can also purchase additional coverage for yourself, for your spouse or
permanent partner, and children. In addition to basic life insurance plans, Nike WHQ offers
employees short and long-term disability coverage, and accidental death and dismemberment
insurance. Other regions may have similar coverage options for both life and disability
insurance; further information will be provided at the time of hire.

Benefits
Retirement
Nike offers a highly competitive retirement plan. Retirement plans vary by geographic
region. A detailed summary of all of the ways in which employees can save for retirement is
provided during our on-boarding process. But here are some specifics regarding the U.S.
Retirement Savings Plan:

401(k) Before Tax Account

 Defer 1-50% of pay on a pre-tax basis
 Nike Match: 100% on the first 5% you contribute
 Match is invested in Nike Stock.
 Match is immediately 100% vested when contributed

Profit Sharing Retirement Plan
Each year, Nike's Board of Directors determines the contribution amount (if any) based on
Nike's annual financial performance. It is fully funded and invested by Nike. Generally,
employees are eligible after completing 1,000 or more hours of service during one fiscal year
of employment. Nike's fiscal year is from June 1 to May 31.

Benefits
Paid Time Off: US Employees
The chart below applies to US employees. Our accrual rates vary by region and country.

US employees working 20 or more hours per week accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) beginning
the day they are hired. Time off accrues throughout the year. Maximum PTO accrual is
limited to 1.5 times your annual accrual amount. Once time is accrued, it can be used for
vacations, sick time, or other personal reasons. The accrual amount is based on length of Nike
service.

and to pay for performance. There are many opportunities to add to base pay, such as merit
increases and promotions.

Performance Sharing Plan (PSP)

Nike has an annual bonus plan that rewards employees based on Nike's performance (to
reward team success) and individual performance (to reward your contributions to that
success).
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Contribute 1% to 10% of your pay through payroll deduction to buy NIKE stock at 15% off
the fair market value. Participate by signing up during open enrollment periods in March and

Child Development Programs: WHQ

Nike is a leader in corporate child care, with state of the art facilities at our world
headquarters, professional staff, and a unique curriculum that reflects the Nike brand in its
emphasis on exceptional experiences for the children and their parents.  Currently, there are
two facilities at our WHQ offering full time child care for 200 and back-up and hourly care
for 28. In the fall of 2008, our newest child development center will add spaces for 300
additional children ages 0-5.

While many corporate facilities outsource child care, our caregivers are full-time Nike
employees with minds made for teaching. Kids are at the heart of our unique curriculum that
emphasizes secure, long-term relationships with teachers and friends, provides plenty of
opportunity for project work, and introduces children to music, swimming, Spanish, and,
most importantly, sports. In partnership with parents, teachers assess children’s progress and
set goals for future success.  Families join in for open house, craft night, the art show, and
many other fun events.

Work Life Balance: US

ke’s Work/Life options in the US are almost entirely employee-driven. Their ideas often turn
into our Human Resource policies. In fact, we’ve implemented the following policies to help
our employees find a balance between their work and personal life:

 We offer flextime, telecommuting, and compressed workweek options which

allow employees to determine their own hours.
 After maternity/paternity leave, parents can arrange part-time scheduling for up to 12
weeks after birth, adoption or placement of a new child.
 Our summer hours policy helps our WHQ employees find creative, flexible ways
to take Fridays off when kids are out of school (or just to enjoy some summer weather).
 It’s no secret; we love sports. So, we try to make our offices globally fit our active
lifestyle by offering gyms in some locations and discounts at nearby facilities.

WHQ Campus

Nike’s 177-acre smoke-free campus is nestled among thousands of native trees, plants and
wildlife. The six-acre lake that rests at the heart of campus is home to migratory ducks and
geese. But that’s not all, our over two million square feet of building space houses everything
from restaurants and retail to Nike’s Sports Research lab. As a Nike employee at WHQ,
you’ll enjoy all the perks including:

 Health and Fitness- Two gyms, an Olympic-sized pool, indoor and outdoor tracks,
hiking trails, soccer fields, and walking paths
 Families First- On-site child care and preschool center
 Employee Discounts- Two employee stores full of Nike product at wholesale prices
for employees and their family only
 Dress Comfortably- casual dress for a serious business
 Alternative Transportation Incentives- Nike offers shuttle buses between campus
buildings, employee stores and bus stops with alternative transportation and carpooling
incentives
 Partnering with the largest public transit system in Oregon, Nike offers employees a
subsidized pass to ride Tri-met for only $25 annually (compared to the regular rate of
$600).  Employees are shuttled to and from local stations and carpoolers are rewarded with
prime parking spaces.
