Situation 1:
Selling your product

Student A:
You are a salesperson Gimma Inc.. It’s Monday and you are
telephoning a client who you think might be interested in
buying your new line of office supplies.
Discuss the following information with your client:
-current special offers on computers;
-new line of office supplies including: copy-paper, pens and
stationary;
-you know the customer hasn’t ordered any new products this
past year;
-special discount of 10% for orders placed before next Friday;
-any order placed after Friday will not have a discount.

Student B:
You work in an office and receive a telephone call from your
local office supplier. As a matter of fact, you need some new
office supplies so you are interested in what the salesperson
has to offer. Talk about the following:
-new pens and stationary;
-do they have any special offers;
You would like to place an order for 100 packages of copy-
paper and 30 pens (15 blue and 15 black)

Situation 2:
Leaving a Message

Student A:
You want to speak to Mr. Brim about your account
with his company, Krimson Ltd. If Mr, Brim isn’t in
the office, leave the following information:
-your name;
-telephone number;
-calling about a doubt on your contract with Krimson
Ltd;
-you can be reached until 7 o’clock at the number you
give him.

Student B:
You are the receptionist at Krimson Ltd. Student A
would like to speak to Mr Brim but he is out of the
office. Take a message and make sure you get the
following information:
- name and telephone number (ask the caller to spell
his/her surname);
- message the caller would like to leave for Mr Brim;
- what time Mr Brim can call the caller at the given
number.

Situation 3:
Requesting travel information

Student A:
Choose a city in Europe. You are going to travek to
this city for a business meeting and you’ll stay abroad
for four days. Telephone a travel agency and ask for
the followins:
- round trip flight;
- hotel room for three nights;
- prices and departure times;
- restaurant recommendation.

Student B:
You work in a travel agent. Listen to the caller and
offer him/her the following solutions:
- round trip flight: Iberia, 450€ or TAP, first class,
890€;
- hotel room for three nights: phoenix Hotel, 100€ a
night in the downtown area; Hotel Relax, 70€ a night
near the airport;
- restaurant recommendation: Doors of the Sun -
downtown - average price 20€ a person; The Tavern,
average price 10€ a person.
