Adverbs of manner
Adverbs of manner tell us how someone does something. They do not
describe the person; they describe the verb and how it is done.
Usually we can form the adverb of manner by adding -ly to the
adjective. For example:
dangerous – dangerously
beautiful – beautifully
hard – hard
good – well
fast – fast
Examples:

Used to
"used to" shows that a particular thing always happened or was true
in the past, especially if it no longer happens or is no longer true. It
is usually used to speak about past habits but it is used as a past
tense verb. So, when changed into negative or changed into a
question, we have to use "did".
Examples:
1- When I was a child, I used to play near the river but now I don't.
2- My father used to smoke 20 cigarettes a day before stopping smoking.
3- I used to visit my grandfather twice a month when I lived in here.
4- He did not use to come to school; he preferred walking.
