Warning for
Imaging Units
(IU's)
It consists of two sections:
A) Things to do before installing Imaging Units.
B) Gradation Adjustment
After receiving the imaging unit please follow the installation instruction booklets
inside each unit, and additional instructions from ARC Technical Department.
STEP 1
Hold the Imaging Unit as shown in the picture. Then shake the Unit left to right and
right to left 20 times to loosen the developer inside the Unit.

Run the gradation adjustment through the technical representative mode. Please
see for details the section B, Gradation Adjustment Instruction.
INSTRUCTION B: HOW TO DO THE GRADATION ADJUSTMENT
For most of the color copier models, you have to run "gradation adjustment".

You will see the following display. Hit the “Admin. Mode” on the touch screen
STEP 4
You will be asked for a password. Enter the password. (Eight zeros, if it doesn’t work,
please contact us)
STEP 5
After entering the password, you will see this screen. Hit the “Expert User Mode” on
the touch screen
STEP 6

Once you pressed “Stabilizer”, you will see the following screen. Press “RESET and
STABILIZE”
STEP 8

Go to the “Admin. Mode” and enter the password, you will see this screen again.
This time you hit the “Gradation Adjustment” on the touch screen.
Then the following display will appear.

Copier will print out the gradation adjustment result as shown on the picture.
STEP 12
Place the printout on copier to Scan. Make sure that two black spots are positioned
to your left hand side as shown on the picture below.
When you’re done with carefully placing the printout on top of the glass. Close the
top of the copier/scanner, be ready to do “Scan”.
STEP 13
If you see the following picture on the LCD display, the procedure completed
successfully. If you get an error message, make sure the printout position (those two
black spots are must be positioned to the left hand side) and repeat the procedure
one more time. After this, if you still get an error message, please give us a call.
