“The Queen of Bronx!!!

Barbara Delbridge, Ms. Bronx
Employment Resource Assistant in Career Development Services at
Goodwill

Grace & Peace Sisters of CWTC,

First of all, I want to give thank to God for being asked to

represent with these beautiful spirited women of God. It is an
honor and a pleasure to know that your word is being demonstrated
and reflected by the deeds and actions of such women. Romans
8:37-39 "No, in all these things we are more than conquers through
him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life
neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor
any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us
from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord".

We are fast approaching a holiday that we Honor the women who God has ordained to be
Mothers. I lost my mother on my birthday 11/25/1997. I was devastated because I could I
celebrate and mourn on the same day. However, through God' Grace & Mercy he allowed me to get
through and rejoice. My Mom suffered a lot of pain in her last days and I knew she was in a better
place rejoicing because all the pain and hardship on this side was over. That gave me strength to
celebrate the life she gave me, and the life with Jesus.

Some of us will be going through this day with mixed emotions, feeling of sadness, and loneliness.
I am here to say that the spirit of these God fearing women live on through us. The gifts, talents,
and spiritual guidance they left with us to instill and be mothers to our natural child/children,
nieces, nephews, children of abused and neglected mothers, and to each other is the best way to
demonstrate the awesome women we lost. Proverb 1:8 Do not forsake your mothers teaching. To
God be the Glory in all that we do to keep the acts of our mothers alive. Loving each of you in the
Illustrious Name of Jesus Christ.

A lovely message from Ricky to his beloved Mother, Wanda Velẽ z, Ms. Universe-

“If I have never said Thank you for bringing me into the world I’d like to do that now. I also
want to let you know that I love you so much and appreciate all you have done for me.

Happy Mother’s Day!”

A
My mother came from a poor noblest couple in town in
Cambodia. They believed in “Buddhism” generations down
until 1981, my mom was introduced to Christianity and later my
grandmother was converted and lived to be 85 years old after
25 years given her life to the Lord Jesus Christ..

I learned to Seek Ye First the kingdom of God and His

righteousness and all these things will be added into me as
well….Matthew 6:33 became my family heritage starting from
my mom. I later shared the Gospel with my boyfriend in 2005
(now my husband) and he received Christ about five years later
and was baptized later at our church. My 9 years old nephew,
Levee Isaac Horm also became a Christian and he loves God
and learned from early age that God created all things and

when I became a mom, will teach God’s precepts to our kids as
well.

Happy Mother’s Day! Vol. 1 Issue 1

Jacki’s tribute to her Mom.

I have a special memory of my mother pulling a

wagon many blocks to purchase groceries for her
family. Some of the smaller children sat inside Left-Mandy, Ms. Richmond, CWTC Treasurer and Holly,
the wagon and others walked alongside. She did Ms. California
not drive nor did she have a car. It was one of OTHERWISE DELETE BOX
the many unique things I can remember her
doing for her eight children. We all respect her
and love her today for the lessons that she
Ms. Rockwood
taught us while we were growing up. There were
always educational games. . . not from a store,
but she made them herself and taught us things
like speaking well and how to present ourselves
properly in the world. We never had a lot of
expensive toys or clothing but we had her
undivided attention and her unconditional love,
which we still have to this day. As an adult we
are not only mother and daughter but very good
friends. She is special and a great role model as
to how a mother should be and I love her very,
very much - Jacki Harris

Book Project

My Love Story He chose me!

It’s more like an answer to my prayers. I have been working on my book probably since the day Gabe
and I met, close to 6 years now. When Jacki came to work as she was sharing her special gift as a
professional artist I was really impressed with some of her works she has done so far with her paintings.
As we became friends here she found out that I have been writing my script and waiting to put the pieces
together. I couldn’t have asked for a better person with such zeal and enthusiasm about the work. That’s
how I know God sent her to me for this great project.
I am praying for the right publisher and hoping to capture all the scenes that still in my memory. Coming
soon, “He Chose Me!” by Sourneat Horm (Krawczk) and Illustrated by Jacki Harris

Health & Fitness

Sourneat and Jacki have started walks around the
parking lot and wanted to extend an invitation to
anyone who wanted to join us. So, weather permitting
we will be at the exit door at 3PM each day.

If anyone would like to join us in a quick walk to ratchet

up the miles, please do so! It’s a fun way to bond with
co-workers and get exercise at the same time.

If we are not there (we may be on vacation or out that

day), please walk anyway! Doesn’t take but 5-15
minutes of your time but it can add years of quality time
to your life!

“JESUS LIVES.”
He walked and talked with the people
He did whatever He could
No matter what the circumstance
If something needed doing, he would
He didn’t make excuses
He didn’t doubt His worth
He just used what was given Him
On the day of His birth
He is still doing the same thing
When we asked and believe, he gives
Our wants and needs are satisfied
And that’s because He lives

A Mother’s Sacrifice Vol. 1 Issue 1

Special Message: A Mother’s Sacrifice

I remember on Mother’s Day how my mother use to hid me the rice cakes each nights during communist (Khmer Rouge) in
1975. I use to crawled into her camp crib and rolled myself inside and she would bathed me and fed me with half of her meal
which equals to a 4”x1” size rice cake. I slept with her until dawn and went back to work the next morning as required by Akha
for kids 5 and above to labor.
When we came to America in 1981, my mother had opportunities to remarry again after we confirmed of our deceased dad in
Thailand, 1980. Because of her love for us, afraid that any man would be good enough to take our dad’s place, now that I
became an adult, I realized how much our mom sacrifices for our sake instead of what she wants. She could, but she chose to
put our desire before hers.

My mother is a wise and brave woman with courage. She risked her life for my sake during Khmer Rouge, during my escapes
time after time again, she was brought to trial for due case which meant life or death. She pleaded for my life at the cost of
hers. She was brave because her love for me was so great and I remember as a five years old, I rather be with my mother
rather than fight over a meal with 20 -30 other hungry kids.

She went out her way to get me my first doll when we came to America in 1981, being a single parent in another country was a
bit challenging for her. But she did it!

From this, I learned that if I ever have an opportunity to be a mom I pray that I would even come close to my mom. That would
make me smile because I know I must be doing something right to raise my children God’s ways.
I received my faith in God by watching her life faithfully seeking God first and His kingdom…Thank you for all you’ve done.
I love you, Mom! Happy Mother’s Day! --Sourneat, President of CWTC
