SCOTT A. DUFRENE – Graduate of Architecture and Interior Design

Scott A. Dufrene is an Architectural and Interior Design graduate with 8 years of hands on
experience in the profession of Architecture, Interior Design, and Construction. Scott has
successfully maintained a position as an intern in a professional Architectural and Interior Design
environment as he closes in on his goal of becoming a Licensed Architect in the immediate
future. As an intern Scott has become extremely proficient with AutoCAD as JVA’s lead
draftsman/designer. Scott’s Construction background started in the field as a Construction
Laborer and later moved to Cabinet Carpentry. That undeniable field experience has aided Mr.
Dufrene in further development of his professional Architectural skills. Scott has also served as
project manager for various clients and projects that include retail stores, restaurants, residential
housing and commercial buildings.

Professional Experienced:

Joelson Vail Associates— Project manager. 2002 – Present - Assignments have included quality
control inspections and compliance audits in terms of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA);
Building Codes and Standards Research and Assessments; and Production of Architectural
Design / Working Drawing as an AutoCAD Technician.

Trio Design Group - Project Manager - Planning and Retail Design - Between 1999 and 2002
provided client coordination, production of retail design and workings drawings for the
professional sporting industry. Consulted directly with clients on projects that involved creative
yet functional space planning, Building material selection and lighting design. Design and
installation of store fixtures and cash wrap areas.

Design Synthesis - Cabinet Designer and Space Planner. 1999 - Designer of residential cabinets
and furniture. Space planner for high end residential homes.

Edward J. Cass & Associates, AIA - Architectural Internship. On staff between 1998-1999
providing AutoCAD drawings, document production, architectural detailing, and product library
management on commercial buildings.

SD Remodeling - Residential Remodeling. Owner and manager of remodeling company. Room

Additions, Cabinet design/building and installation, Flooring installation, Wood and Tile Flooring
and Residential Painting.

Employed as a draftsman/designer for 3 Louisiana architectural firms between 1994 and 1997.
Responsible for working drawings including large multi-family and office buildings.

United States Marine Corp - Staff Sergeant Served in an Engineer Force Reconnaissance
Company for 6 years. Duties performed consisted of knowledge of demolition, land surveying,
construction, bridge building, estimating, and information specialist.
