Painting Project Options
Depending on the style/difficulty of your artist’s work and your choice of project, you may either do a SINGLE work of art, or a
SERIES of paintings. Realize that you have approximately 3-4 weeks to complete this in class. You MUST be working on this
project in class the entire time. If you finish early, you may be asked to complete a SERIES of paintings instead of a SINGLE work
of art.
1. Paint an everyday object in the style of your painter (example: a shoe or an umbrella painted in the
style of Monet)
2. Paint a copy of one of your artist’s most famous pieces.
3. Paint a copy of a photograph/magazine/another painter’s work in the style of your artist. (Example:
you and your friends on a field trip in the style of Renoir)
4. Paint your own version (in your own style) of one of your artist’s paintings.
5. Paint an “updated” version of one of your artist’s paintings. (Example: someone listening to an iPod
and wearing a baseball hat walking around a Cezanne painting)
6. Your own creative solution (get permission from Ms. Collins).
