TOPIC

Mathematics learning to students especially to

class III in elementary school with uses all
kinds of media which can help student in
material absorbing process.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

Student tends to assume that mathematic is a hard lesson.

Moreover for student in elementary school, especially to
class III where is their math lesson having not just about
addition and subtraction, but already develop to the other
operation. It is too hard for them to absorb the lesson
quickly. Cause of that, needed to accurate methods in
mathematics learning to become effective for student class
III, like using graphic media, and the question is does
with use media like that can help student to understanding
math lesson?
RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
How the ability of understanding math lesson of
student in class III elementary school with use
graphic media?
How the ability of understanding math lesson of
student in class III elementary school without use
graphic media?
Does is an positive influence of using graphic media
on the ability of understanding math lesson class
III elementary school?
OBJECTIVE

Able to add insight knowledge about methods to teach

mathematics as well with using graphic media which is
then expected to result from this study can be further
consideration of educators, teachers, and people -
those relating to mathematics learning.
HYPOTHESIS

Understanding the subject matter of mathematics who

taught third grade of elementary school by using
graphic media higher than students who are taught
without graphics media.
RESEARCH DESIGN

Experiments using a simple randomized design with two

treatment groups. Each group received the same lesson
material provided by the same teacher in separate rooms.
Same time learning, learning tasks are also similar.

Experimental units: The subject of this research are

Students grade III Elementary school
Treament:s :
Done by dividing the third grade elementary school students into
two classes. One class uses graphic media, one more class taught
without graphics media. Learning materials, time, teachers are
created equal.
Group 1: get a lesson from the teacher by using graphic media
which had been prepared the previous teacher.
Group II: get a lesson from the teacher without the use of
graphic media, enough with the explanation of teachers as usual.
For example, lectures and wrote several important material on
the board.
Randomization: :
Experiments using a simple randomized design
with two treatment groups. Where are we taking
two homogeneous classes between the other
classes.
Variables Concern:
• Independent variables: The use of graphic media
Conducted by the teacher / researcher at the time to
teach certain subjects.
Example: pictures, graphs, charts, etc.
• Dependent Variable: the ability of students to
understand the problem
This variable was measured after the use of graphic
media completed within a certain time unit. For example
through the test (essay or objective)
