Choi, Martino I
CMSffF1 - Please add the following Azerbaijan offer of assistance to the matrix:
The Azerbaijani Government has offered Disaster Relief Assistance of $500,000 to aid efforts in the
wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Foreign Minister, in a phone call to Ambassador Hamish, said
Azerbaijan cannot provide needed items such as generators, but President Aliyev felt an offer of
monetary assistance was the moral thing to do. (Baku 1329)
Recommend that the Secretary include Azerbaijan among her thank-you calls.
Erin
All,
Here is a cable accepting disaster assistance from Azerbaijan. The cable mentioned payment details, though in fact the
money had already arrived.
