Design Name: Original Design

Red: Cond layer Green: Resis Layer Thickness: 1600um Substrate: Duriod
Analysis: As we can see, the response of the DGS filter does not seem to be very ideal in comparison of the S11 and S21, in
fact it does not even qualify as a low grade filter. Improvements in specifications should tweak the response of the filter to
something more ideal.

Red: Cond layer Green: Resis Layer Thickness: 1600um Substrate: FR4
Analysis: Filter response reacted more ideally after inclusion of vias and better material was used for the substrate layer. FR4
of Er,4.7 and Loss tangent of 0.027, was utilized. Although response of filter is there, results of the S11 is not very appealing.
Improvements should be made.

Design Name: 3 Junction Stub

Red: Cond layer Green: Resis Layer Thickness: 1600um Substrate: FR4
Analysis: 3 additional stubs were added to the resis layer which would increase capacitance, thus pushing the S11 response
to a value much better than the Original Design. Although the S11 improved from -10dB to -21dBm, the S21 response was
sacrificed. Though S21 value was not as ideal as the Original Design, the response is still acceptable as it is still well under the
-3dB point.

Design Name: 3 Junction Tooth-in

Red: Cond layer Green: Resis Layer Thickness: 1600um Substrate: FR4
Analysis: Working backwards, instead of having the stubs protruding redesigning the filter to have the stubs caved in instead
of protruding, thus creating a larger field for capacitance. By doing so, the design response of the S11 improved slightly but
the S21 improved by around 50%. Which is something very positive as the S21 response has to be as near to 0dB as possible.
However the S21 curve is not symmetrical and work has to be done to improve it.
Design Name: 3 tooth Etched outline
Red: Cond layer Green: Resis Layer Thickness: 1600um Substrate: FR4
Analysis: Combining concepts that how Er, Loss Tangent, and the reduction of ground resis layers, a filter response as above
was formed, with the S11 reaching an astounding reading of -40dB and the S21 has a very good reading of -0.5dB and also
achieving the symmetrical shape that was not achieved in the previous design.
Some uniform testing for better understanding.
