The Creation Story

When you look at the tall trees,
the colorful flowers, and the bright
sun, do you ever wonder how they
all got there?
In the beginning there was no
sun, no earth, no animals and no
plants! There was only darkness
and water!

Quando olha para as árvores tão

altas, para as flores tão coloridas e
para o sol brilhante, você já
perguntou como será que tudo
surgiu?
Bem, no começo não havia sol,
não havia Terra, não havia animais
e nem plantas! Só havia escuridão e
água!
One day, God said, “let there be
light!” And just like that, light
appeared! God said, “I will call
the light day, and the darkness I
will call night.” And that was the
end of the very first day!

Um dia Deus disse: “Que

haja luz!” E a luz surgiu no
mesmo instante! Deus gostou
do que fez e disse: “Vou
chamar a luz dia, e à
escuridão chamarei noite.”
E esse foi o primeiro dia!
On the second day, God
decided to make the sky,
and as He said the words
the sky appeared. God
filled the sky with pure,
fresh air!

No segundo dia Deus

decidiu fazer o céu, e
quando disse isso o céu
surgiu, e Ele o encheu de
ar puro e fresco!
 On the third day, God gathered the waters together. “I
will call this water the seas!” God said. Then, He made dry
land appear.
At God’s command, the land was covered with a carpet
of beautiful green grass. Then, many different kinds of
plants, trees, and bushes sprouted from the ground! There
were fruit trees and pine trees, blackberry bushes and
cabbage plants, twining ivy vines and floating lily pads.
Each plant was perfectly formed by our wonderful
Creator.

No terceiro dia Deus juntou as águas e disse: “Vou

chamar as águas de mares.” E depois fez surgir a terra seca.
Quando Deus mandou, a terra ficou coberta com um
tapete lindo de grama. Depois brotaram do solo várias
plantas, árvores e arbustos! Tinha árvores frutiferas e
pinheiros, moitas e pés de repolho, cipós retorcidos e flores
flutuantes. – Cada planta foi feita de forma perfeita pelo
nosso maravilhoso Criador.

No quinto dia Deus tocou os mares e os encheu

encheu o céu com mil e um tipos de pássaros.
Que beleza! Que dia mais lindo!
On the sixth day, God created all the animals that would
walk on the earth. That’s a lot of animals! God was very
busy that day with so many kinds of animals to create!
However, that wasn’t the end of the sixth day. God still had
His most important creation of all to make.

No sexto dia Deus criou todos os animais que viveriam no

chão, e foram muitos! Ele teve um dia bem ocupado criando
tantos bichos! Mas o sexto dia não parou por aí. Deus
ainda ia criar a coisa mais importante.
 From the dust of the earth, God formed a living
human being – his most amazing creation! The
first man’s name was Adam.
However, God saw that Adam was
lonely, and needed a friend. God made
Adam fall asleep, and while he was
sleeping, God made his final creation
– a woman!
E do pó Deus formou um ser
humano, que foi a Sua criação
mais impressionante! O
primeiro homem se chamou
Adão.
No entanto, Deus viu que Adão se
sentia só e que precisava de
companhia, então o fez cair num
sono bem profundo. E enquanto
isso, Deus fez a Sua última
criação – uma mulher!
God looked at all His
creation and said, “I’ve
created the world just as it
should be.” God was very
happy. He’d done a good
job creating our world! On
the seventh day, God rested
from His work.

Deus contemplou toda a

Sua criação e disse: “Criei
o mundo tal como deverá
ser.” E Deus ficou muito
feliz, pois tinha criado um
mundo lindo! No sétimo dia
Deus descansou.
