PROJECT (3): Agent-based information push mechanism

Abstract: Information push mechanism is a way of pushing the information to the user who would be
interested in that. This technique is widely used in web-site advertising (showing the advertisements that a
user with a certain profile would be interested in, yahoo! sites for example). This technique can also be
applied in other areas wherein a user with a known profile interacts with an information system (such as a
website). Based on the profile and on the history of activities of the user, a behavioral profile of that user
could be determined and this behavioral profile will help the information push system in determining the
content that the particular user would like to view. This project is aimed at developing an agent-based
information push mechanism. In this system, an agent program would be monitoring the user’s activities
(like what he types on a word document, for example) and then propose to get him some help to perform
his activity in a better and easier way.

Project (16): Lost Articles and Letters Reconciliation System

Abstract: A Post Office wants to improve its efficiency by delivering the lost letters and lost articles (which
are sent in parcels) in a short period of time. Currently it takes about 3 months for a lost letter or a lost
article to reach the correct destination. A machine reads addresses on letters. The ones, which could not be
read by machine, are sorted by human intervention. Even after this, the address is not readable, it becomes
a lost letter. Articles that fall out of the parcel become lost articles. When the sender/receiver calls up or
contacts the post office for their letter/article, a manual note is made and then this note is sent to the
warehouse where lost articles and lost letters are kept. The reconciliation process of finding the lost
letter/article is manual and sometimes wrong letter/article(s) is sent. You have to develop a system, which

Project (61) Multilevel Marketing

MLM or multilevel marketing software describes the tools to manage and organize MLM accounts.
Generally web-based and user friendly, MLM tools allow you to track your customers and recruits, as
well as organize and report day to day sales, revenue and profit.

Multi-level marketing itself is legal, but there have been many instances of MLM systems that have
gotten into trouble by resorting to fraud and false advertising. For example, illegal pyramid schemes are
multilevel programs wherein people pay an entrance fee for the sole opportunity to recruit others to do
the same, but generally have no product for sale at the bottom of the pyramid.

Multilevel marketing (MLM) plans, also known as "network" or "matrix" marketing, are ways of selling
goods or services through distributors. These plans typically promise that if you sign up as a distributor,
you will receive commissions -- for both your sales of the plan's goods or services and those of other
people you recruit to join the distributors. Multilevel marketing plans usually promise to pay
commissions through two or more levels of recruits, known as the distributors "down line."

86) QUICK MESSENGER : A CHAT LINE APPLICATION

(Quick messenger is a simulation of the instant messenger which we have established within
a LAN. Instant messaging represents a medium via which messaging partners can interact in a
synchronous fashion. Correspondence can occur in a near "instant" manner. With quick
messenger we are providing an easy to use and a rich graphical user interface.

It is basically a server-client model in which server side program is used to save the details of
the users.

There is a central server handling all communications to and from clients. Each user can run the client program and
connect to server to start chatting. All clients and server will have list of online users. List is updated as soon as the
status of some client changes. There is one main chat room in which all messages can be seen by all clients.

The user can send instant messages to other clients that are online at that instant using the
“send” option.

Users can also choose to chat in private with any one on the list.

Multiple chat rooms have not been implemented but provisions are provided in code for easy deployment.

To end the session the user has to exit the network by using the “disconnect” option.

87) “Intranet Mailing System”

manual systems because in manual systems the mails are passed through persons from one department
to another. It takes mush time and risk also. This leads the inconsistency of information. So we need a
system which is both quick and accurate. This can be achieved by this project. The main aim of this
project is to send the mails spontaneously without requiring the parties be available at the same instant.
It is much cheaper than the manual system. Advantages with the proposed system: The main

Before automating a bookshop we have to understand the concept of automation. In automation of any operation we
make a system which do work automatically as the respective events occurs, for which it is meant.

There are the some common examples of the automation like that auto pilot system in the aircraft, automatic home
systems (electric system, water system, fire alarm system, doors system etc). These are best examples of the
automation systems.

Here we are try to develop such type system which is provide the automation on the any type of the bookshop. That
means a shop which has the type system which provides the facility to the customers of the shop to purchase the books
from the shop without any complexity.

For example any customer want to purchase any book from the shop than first of all customer just choose the stream of
the book than he/she can see the more then one type of books there and than he/she can choose the specific book from
there. And then purchase it by paying price on bookshop cash counter and receives its invoice.

(98) Project : Control Office Application (COA)

Customer : Centre for Railway Information Systems(CRIS)

Indian Railways comprises of about 70 divisions which are the operational arms and responsible for day-to-day
operations . The divisional control office is the nerve centre for all activities related to train running. It has the
following functionaries

Chief Controller controlling overall train movement and related activities.

Stock Controller for planning the demand and supply of wagons
Dy Trains for planning and control of freight train movement
Dy Punctuality for monitoring punctuality of passenger trains.
Power controller for arranging locomotive and crew for trains.
Section Controller for regulating the movement of all trains over a specified jurisdiction.

The duties of the Section Controller are very strenuous in nature involving high level of documentation work in
addition to his primary duty of planning and reporting the movement of trains. The present system of operational
practices also/ involves a lot of paper work by support staff to convert the operational related information from the
Control Chart into various registers. Thus the core activity of advance plotting and timely reporting of movements is
hampered . Thus, the management is forced to rely only on selective information about various events for decision
making.

In view of the above scenario, Indian Railways has prioritised the need to automate these operations and identified the
need for technology enabled services as part of its automation strategy to achieve operational efficiency.
The benefits of such an automated system would be Integration of various distributed systems in a cost effective
manner Better operational efficiency and productivity by replacing manual processes with automated processes.
Establishment of faster and better interfaces with the consumers by streamlining of processes and enhancement of
information availability Greater cohesiveness among various divisions.
