Variety of wrought specifications available, good for trim material
Low magnetic permeability
Non-sparking; can be used for oxygen service
Reasonable thermal and electrical conductivity
Good Castabilty with suitable design
Weldable
Can be heat treated to improve seawater corrosion properties

Cautions
Low modulus of elasticity, but good yield stress
Raised face flanges non-standard

High temperature use


Observe pressure ratings at higher temperatures

Should not be used in polluted / H2S containing seawater (in common with 316 Stainless)
