About the Program


The Group Management Cadre (GMC) Internship Program places talented students in their
first-year of business school into challenging summer internships with businesses across the
Group.

Past GMC Interns have carried out projects with long term impact. In Mahindra Two Wheelers,
they have evaluated the launch of a Scooter brand, Duro and proposed its future marketing and
product strategy. In Mahindra Finance, they have created a rating methodology for lending to
small enterprises and developed our microfinance pilot program. At Mahindra Lifespaces, they
have designed a Quality Improvement Plan based on customer feedback.

As a GMC Intern, you will contribute real deliverables to the sector of your choice. You’ll create
lasting relationships with Mahindra managers and leaders across all levels through close
interaction on your projects. And you’ll experience the complexity and opportunity of working
for a dynamic, high-growth federation of diverse businesses.

as important. Succeeding in the Group Management Cadre Internship Program requires a
combination of creativity, critical thinking, and people skills. We need people with a global
mindset to guide Mahindra in our expanding global influence.

We seek talented, self-motivated workers who take the initiative to pursue new ideas. We want
innovative thinkers who take well reasoned risks and think critically about how to improve
existing processes.

Good people skills with clients, partners, customers, and internal teams are imperative. We
need people who work effectively on teams, value individual dignity, and respect the time and
efforts of others.

Successful GMCs excel with high levels of responsibility. They lead projects with important
impact on company performance, customer satisfaction, and internal systems.

Hiring Process
The recruitment process begins in September with a round of campus visits. We send a
recruitment team to hold a series of on-campus information sessions. Currently, we recruit
from India’s top 17 business schools: IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bengaluru, IIM Kolkata, IIM Indore,
IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, XLRI Jamshedpur, XIMB Bhubaneswar, FMS Delhi, IIFT Delhi, IMT
Ghaziabad, MDI Gurgaon, SP Jain Mumbai, JBIMS Mumbai, NMIMS Mumbai, SIBM Pune, and
SCMHRD Pune.

First, we conduct a group interview where we invite candidates to talk about each other’s skills.
This provides us with insight into candidates’ soft skills, interpersonal skills, and personality to
enable us to identify good fits with the Mahindra culture.

Next, interviews are held with our Human Resources and Business teams later that day. This
interview helps us match candidates with positions they will enjoy and excel at. We hold a 100
percent commitment to meet your functional preference and an 80 percent commitment to
meet your top two sector preferences.

Offers are extended immediately after the interview.

The final step in the process is a medical exam at a Mahindra-approved clinic to make sure you
are physically fit to do your job.

Housing
Interns based in Mumbai enjoy housing in Mahindra Park, Ghatkopar. Interns are paired in fully
furnished two-bedroom flats with a kitchen, living room, and washroom.

Interns based in other locations are accommodated in Mahindra guest houses. They enjoy
private rooms and washrooms.

Fitness Center
Many Mahindra locations offer fitness centers that are free for employees.

Growth Opportunities
Outstanding GMC Interns may be extended pre-placement offers at the end of their internships.
Recruitment into the Group Management Cadre is an opportunity to form the foundation for a
