* Implemented a microbial-based testing procedure that screened all newly synthe
sized in-house chemicals and formulations for mutagenic/carcinogenic activity.
This led to early detection of potential problems from a health and wellness vie
wpoint and helped eliminate some outside animal testing. These efforts saved the
company in excess of $200,000 yearly in outside testing and helped them to prom
ote and advertise their products as being "animal friendly". Was named "Woman
of the Year" for work in this area.
* Provided technical expertise, consultations and service to Ashland's customers
and vendors. This led to a 15% expansion of the customer base and a superior r
ating from all vendors.
* Responsible for all aspects of the microbiology laboratory including testing,
methods development, research, reporting, hiring and training.
