Carl Cox and Safehouse Management have just announced the stellar line-up for Carl’s 10th
anniversary celebration of the Carl Cox Revolution at Space Ibiza. Carl has recruited the very best
artists and party hosts from his last 10 years of revolutionary parties including global icons Laurent
Garnier, Moby, Fatboy Slim and Kevin Saunderson. With so many stars convening in one place,
Tuesday nights at Space are going to create a musical black hole that no one can resist. For twelve
consecutive weeks, each of Space Ibiza’s four rooms will feature surprising encounters, crazy co-
pilots and dazzling prodigies – nothing to do but dance! Carl says that The Revolution has always
been about the people on the dancefloor: "For me, it’s not about trends or my own personal
tastes. When my guests are having a great time and radiating positive energy, then it doesn’t
matter whether the DJ is playing drum & bass or minimal. If the music makes people party –
perfect!“
Yousef, Nic Fanciulli and UMEK will be joining Carl once again as resident DJs. UMEK is particularly
pleased to be invited back: "It's always an honor for me to play with Carl, especially this year when his
residency on the island celebrates a 10th anniversary. Congrats Coxy!" The line-up of guests include
lots of Carl’s long-term friends but has also been carefully crafted to explore the many disruptions,
fascinating shifts and crossovers that have shaped the evolution of electronic dance music over the
last decade. Some of the headliners include Brighton’s Big Beat producer Fatboy Slim, Detroit-Tech
founding father Kevin Saunderson, Techno legend Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier presents L.B.S,
known for his extended sets and edgy mix of techno, jazz, African and psychedelic sound, New York’s
multi-talent Moby, who will be playing an exclusive to Space DJ Set, and lots more. A few special
surprises and must-see favorites are also on the roster, like Magda, Nicole Moudaber, Carlo Lio,
Christian Smith, Cirillo, Cristian Varela, Jon Rundell, Marco Bailey, DJ Marky, Michel de Hey, Steve
Mulder, Tini and Germany’s queen of clubs Monika Kruse who says she is really looking forward to
another season of Tuesday nights with Carl: "He is a true pioneer of electric music and a fantastic
host. This makes the night so special."
Carl will also be playing an amibitious 10-hour set at the opening party in tribute to the last decade –
one hour for every year. “I want to play everything that has made our Tuesday night what it is,” says
Carl. “And when I drop a classic tune I know it’ll bring a lump to my throat. An old tune can take you
right back to that moment, so this summer will be emotional, for sure.”
The founding of The Revolution was inspired by Carl’s desire to create a residency where he could
discover his own sound and play what he believed in. "I wanted to play at one club, where I could put
everything into it.” From the very beginning he knew where he wanted to stage his revolution: “Space
has always been a very special place. It set the precedent for the after-hours club and it was the first
and at the time, only club where you could listen to dance music under the sun. There was no other
place like it. Still isn’t today. For me it’s always been Space or nothing.”
What’s going to happen in ten years time? Who knows. But it’s clear that this 10 year anniversary is
one revolution that dance and music lovers would be crazy to miss. Short of actually booking an
exclusive trip to the stars on the Virgin Galactic, this is probably your best chance ever to orbit into
Space. The opening party launches at 9pm on Tuesday 5th July and then follows weekly as below.
