PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Director of Operations - SAINT EDWARD'S SCHOOL / SODEXO - Vero Beach, FL - 2007-
2010
Oversaw all operational functions within 2-campus, 200,000 sq. ft. educational i
nstitution, including Building Maintenance, MEP, Grounds Maintenance, Janitorial
Services, and Design/Construction. Brought on board to reverse results for unde
r-performing team and drive forward improvements across all operations. Highligh

Led a 180-degree turnaround, resulting in a trained, well-organized team of 17 f
ull-time employees who responded effectively to all campus needs. Reduced overti
me while increasing daily coverage from 5 to 7 days per week.
* Directed completion of $1.5 million hurricane restoration construction program
within a 7-month period; eliminated long-term campus-wide flooding through grad

In charge of Production Machinery, MEP, Vehicle Maintenance, Janitorial Services
, Grounds Maintenance, and Design/ Construction functions. Supervised, trained,
and mentored team of 20 employees. Recruited to restore $20 million in hurrican
e damage. Highlights:
Achieved $4 million in savings by developing alternative flight line constructio

Recruited to lead full-scale organizational restructuring. Held full responsibil
ity for all facilities-related departments and activities, including Budget Mana
gement, Building Inspection & Compliance, Design/Construction, Maintenance, Fire
Protection, Fleet Management, and Warehousing. Led cross-functional team of 157
in meeting/exceeding goals. Highlights:
Captured $515,000 savings through revision of bid process and rebidding of escal
ator restoration project. Negotiated ~$150,000 savings on 1st 5 agreements follo
wing implementation of professional services fee curve.
* Reduced HR costs while maintaining optimal performance by designing position c
ontrol structure and updating all job descriptions, decreasing staff from 165 to
157, and expanding role of in-house construction crew (with the team's 1st proj
ect completed 42 days ahead of schedule and $160,000+ under budget).
* Introduced Capital Improvement Program with ~65 projects and managed volume of
~$170 million, created an improved-response Zone Maintenance Program through or
ganizational restructuring, and converted a $31 million, 270,000 sq. ft. commerc

* Led the storm damage recovery process that resulted in facilities openings in
3 days following Hurricane Katrina, 2 days after Hurricane Rita, and 6 days foll

General Services Director - CITY OF VERO BEACH - Vero Beach, FL - 1994-2005


Led all support services for Fleet Management, Facilities Management, and Solid
Waste Collection. Supervised and evaluated team of 55 employees. Managed budget,
resources, and communications. Highlights:
Saved $92,000 through roof modifications for park shelters, reduced stock materi
als from $233,000 to $70,000 in 8 years through inventory control measures, and
lowered average monthly cost for vehicle maintenance.
* Reduced full-time staff 15% through attrition and work assignment adjustments;
increased employee productivity 40% through implementation of workload measurem
ent.
* Introduced new telephone system based on fiber optic technology (significant c
hallenge and innovation) subsequently leading to organization's selection by Sie
