stic and international suppliers to bid. Tying highest volume (petro based) purc
hases to market based indices produced $3M+ in annual savings.
Selected Achievements
Escalating Stainless Steel costs were affecting competitive position of EMD Stai
nless Steel Containers who also had to maintain FDA approvals. Investigation rev
ealed no basis for price increases; introduced 2 competing suppliers against sin
gle source, saving 17%.
Established CPFR type process for medical testing device manufacturer that reduc
ed overstocks from as much as 35% to <5%.
