I was going crazy about the subtitles too and turns out the NAME OF THE MOVIE HA
S TO BE THE SAME AS THE NAME OF THE SUBTITLES FILE!!! Except for the extention c
ode of course, they must also be in the same folder. For example, in a folder yo
u'll have the files: cityofmen.avi and then you'll also have cityofmen.srt that'
s how the subtitles work, if the names are different the subtitles won't work! I
hope anyone finds this useful! GREAT MOVIE BTW =]

Applying Subtitles Permanently (Hardcoding) to your AVI Movie File (For us compu
ter Illiterates/Made it as simple as possible)
Download this free program called AVI Recode http://www.free-codecs.com/download
/AVI_ReComp.htm I'm not making it a link so no one gets suspicious about my advi
ce, Im just tryin to help cuz Im relatively new to all this as well, this downlo
ad inclueds all the software you need
After you have downloaded and isntalled all that software (making sure to add AV
I Recode to your desktop for ease of access as the other sofware is incorporated
into this lead program) open AVI Recode
Before proceeding you need to go to the Folder that contains your AVI Movie File
and SRT Subtitles File for that movie --Once there change the base file names o
f the AVI and SRT files to exactly the same thing -------Example ----------My.Mo
vie.avi ----------My.Movie.srt --Now go to Windows Explorer (You can type it in
the search box in the Start Menu) --Now click the Tools tab and select the Folde
r Oprions in the drop-down menu --Now click the View tab --Now click select the
option that allows for the "show of hidden files and folders"
Back to the AVI Recode program
Click the Source & Output tab at the top
Click the Open AVI button and locate your AVI Movie File and open it
Click the Save As button, AVI Recode will automatically choose a file name and l
ocation for the finished subtitled AVI Movie file usually in the owner/videos fo
lder but you can browse and choose whatever name and location you want
Now Click the Additions tab at the top
Check mark the Enable/disable box underneath Subtites
Click the Load Subtitles button and locate your SRT Subtitles Video file and ope
n it
Now Click the Queue tab at the top
Click the Add to Queue button and your recoding job you have just set up will ap
pear in the list
Click the Start button and wait till it says Job Complete above the green meter
Your AVI Movie File is now subtitled and ready to burn, I use Kilisoft AVI to DV
D Converter for this
Note: there are other tweaking options in the AVI Recode program but if you have
a legit rip, for example from aXXo or FXG, then you really shouldnt mess with t
he other options
--Enjoy, Keep on Learnin, and Pass the Dutchy to the Left Hand Side!
One more thing--If for some reason your DVDRip didnt come with subtitles go to s
ubscene.com and type in your movie name, if possible try to find the file with t
he Rippers name in it for examples: FXG / aXXo / RELODED
