PROJECTS
=>Vibration Analysis of Structures: Finite Element Analysis approach was used fo
r analyzing the vibrations in structures like bridges, pin-jointed trusses. Matl
ab was used as a primary tool for programming and analysis.
=>Finite Element Analysis of beam problems and other common engineering structur
es: Static and dynamic analysis of beam problems like the cantilever beam, simpl
y supported beam etc. and other structures like the truss etc., vibration analys
is was done. Various different types of structural configurations and force conf
igurations were analyzed.
=>Design of Piston and Air bearing for a Fast Long Range Actuator: The project i
nvolved stress analysis and vibration analysis of the system. Design improvisati
on of piston and air bearing for the actuator was the primary objective.
=>Simulation of Thermal Stresses in a Bi-Metallic Strip: A bimetallic strip was
analyzed using Ansys. The stresses developed due to a temperature change of 240
C in the strip were simulated and compared to the theoretical results. Also, the
deflection and bending of the strip was closely studied. A non-linear analysis
was also performed on the strip and the deflection studied.
=>Simulation of Kirsch's Problem using the Finite Element Method: The objective
was to verify the known results of Kirsch Problem and analyze stress distributio
n in the plate.
=>Redesign for assembly of a HP Printer: The aim of the project was to identify
and redesign the parts of an old HP Printer with primary focus on ease of assemb
ly. Checking of redundancy on parts and eliminating redundant parts or replacing
them with a better design was a major aspect of the project.
=>Error Budget Analysis of a Polar Coordinate Measuring Machine: The project inv
olved understanding of the working of a polar coordinate measuring machine and t
he estimation of possible errors in measurement.
=>Project/Senior Year Thesis: "3-D modeling of a Motorbike using Reverse Enginee
ring Techniques" :The project involved finite element analysis and 3-D modeling
of a motor bike. The modeling was done using ProE and Ansys was used for finite
element analysis. The basic objective of the project was design optimization.

PRESENTATIONS
=>Crack shielding and amplification due to multiple micro cracks interacting wit
h a macro crack.
=>A numerical study on the correlation between the work of separation and the di
ssipation rate in ductile fracture
=>Reverse Engineering
