SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Turned marginal HR unit into key management tool. Joined Servisair to reverse de
cline in HR effectiveness. Revamped benefits administration and HRIS. Negotiated
outsourced payroll processing and non-core HR function vendor contracts with pe
rformance guarantees. Strengthened HR performance while saving $800K annually.
Strengthened employee performance and retention. Growth plans were stymied by st
affing problems. Revised poorly structured bonus and incentive compensation, int
roduced more effective performance and loyalty incentives, and developed managem
ent succession plans. Enabled Servisair to exceed EBITDA goals by 7.1% ($13.5M).
Secured employee buy-in for major compensation overhaul. Servisair joint venture
suffered from rampant absenteeism, high turnover, low productivity, high accide
nt rates and a disgruntled workforce. Gained union support to introduce pay-for-
performance plan. Simultaneously boosted job metrics and employee morale while c
utting cost.
Rebuilt medical plan. Spearheaded Servisair's transition from fully insured cove
rage to a self funded plan. Led plan benefit redesign and cost containment initi
ative. Introduced weight loss, smoking cessation, stress management, nutritional
and wellness programs. Turned cash drain into surplus representing $268K in sav
ings.
Led fast track initiative to staff startup. ALeNET had been launched to provide
eBusiness and ERP applications to international customers, but existed principal
ly on paper. With private equity financing in place, recruited CIO, CFO and CMO.
Designed compensation, medical coverage, HRIS, relocation and compensation syst
ems.
Restructured merit pay and competitive compensation. Failure to understand inter
nal pay equity issues or its own relative pay position in the market had placed
BankUnited at a competitive disadvantage. Aligned compensation with job descript
ions for both executive and hourly employees. Increased retention and performanc

CAREER SUMMARY
VP Corporate Human Resources, Servisair USA Inc, 2001 to 2010. Provided corporat
e-wide HR leadership in this step up position with a larger, 5000-employee, $200
M aviation services provider. Planned and led staffing and performance developme
nt. Reduced turnover from 103% to 17%. Controlled $1.4M budget. Led staff of 10.
Executive VP / Chief HR Officer, ALeNET Inc, 2000 to 2001. Recruited to this sta
rtup enterprise software development firm to build HR and administrative infrast
ructure from the ground up. Selected both C-level management and technical staff
for international assignments.
VP HR, BankUnited, 1998 to 2000. Structured and directed HR policies and procedu
res in support of talent acquisition, incentive compensation, benefits administr
ation, employee relations and retention.

Personal Profile: As part of my community commitment, I participate in the regio
nal Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, enabling community members
to provide disaster aid when first responders are not available. I have also se
rved on the Miami / Dade County Living Wage Advisory Board, and I am also a memb
er of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
