EXPERIENCE
STUDENT / TUTOR 20042009
TEXAS TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, Lubbock, Texas
Texas Tech University prides itself on being a major comprehensive research univ
ersity that retains the sense of a smaller liberal arts institution.
Academic Projects
* Served as a vital part of a Student Team that analyzed Mike Sears hydraulic fe
nce post puller. Analyzed and tested the claims of 8 tons pounds force limit.
* Developed 3D model of the unit using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009 and i
mported it into ANSYS CFX a computational fluid dynamics program.
* The Team tested various forces from 5-8 tons pounds of force and found the uni
t could not withhold the claimed 8 tons pounds of force and could only handle 6
tons pounds of force.
* Performed simulation of force applied and viewed illustration on how unit woul
d deform. Team increased thickness main support bar, which improved the unit str
ength. Main support bar could then handle 6.5 tons pounds of force; with adding
only 6 pounds of unit weight (ANSYS CFX).
Technical Experience
Autodesk AutoCAD 2010, Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009
* Developed 2D objects, blocks, viewports, layouts, apply layers and dimensions,
and work with object properties. Developed 3D models of objects, apply forces,
and import into CFD or FEA software for stress analysis.
ANSYS 11, ANSYS CFX
* Created various types of components and apply forces to analyze and illustrate
various stress distributions. Developed computer simulations of objects under l
oading, and fluid flow under various conditions.
Student Tutoring
* Effectively tutored Pre-Med Surgical Assistants in the Principles of Chemistry
. Enthusiastic educator with an avid interest in Engineering, Chemistry, and Mat
h.
