Thank you for this opportunity to submit my resume. To date, I have enjoyed ov
er 18 years at the Sunoco Eagle Point Refinery. I have worked the Fluidized Cata
lyst Unit, maintaining unit equipment such as gas compressors, centrifugal pumps
, turbines, exchangers, reactors, waste heat boilers and process flows. Also, th
e Polypropylene/Cumene Unit. I have highly motivated mechanical and maintenance
skills. Complete understanding and knowledge of P&ID's, Process Knowledge Comput
er Programs, Computer Skills. I am a certified High Pressure Black Seal holder a
nd hold a NJ Class B Drivers License with Hazmat Endorsement. I have certificati
ons for operating High Reach, Forklift, Scissors Lift and Backhoe. At fifty-two
years of age I am healthy and in great physical condition to perform any task.
During my tenure with Sunoco, there was a strong emphasis and commitment to safe
ty, as well as an environment of team work. Controlling on spec streams and flow
s and dedication to the product was also a commitment. I was offered and accepte
d special upgraded assignments such as Dead Leg Project which consisted of locat
ing and identifying dead end piping and rewriting P&ID's. Also, the new construc
tion of a $140 million Low Sulfer Gasoline Unit where I was upgraded and respons
ible for permits, enforcing safety and multible unit tie-ins and preparing the n
ew unit for a safe start up. I also assisted in the training of twenty-six Opera
tors preparing to operate the new Unit. Start up of the new LSG Unit was my rewa
rd. I operated the PKS computerized control and assisted other operators in the
field. During this project I received a formal accommodation for excellence and
project distinction.
I have a good heart for volunteer work as well. I spent two weeks in Plaqemines
Parish, Louisanna rebuilding homes that were destroyed by Hurricanes Katrina an
d Rita. Volunteer work at my church and Pennsville Autism Center.
I also hold certifications in Fire Training from the Delaware State Fire School
, the Monmouth County Fire Training Center and also regular on-site plant maneuv
ers. These experiences have given me a strong knowledge in fire prevention and s
afety, proper protocol for extinguishing fires of all origins, and also SCBA (Se
lf Contained Breathing Apparatus).
I have enclosed my resume and training trancripts for your review and will be gl
ad to provide personal and professional references upon your request.
I look forward to an interview at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Robert M. Allen
