BPA 430 Quick Start Guide

To activate your Broadband Phone Adapter (BPA), please have your phone system
administrator follow these steps:

Configure Extensions

To get started, you will first need to configure your extension(s).

1. First go to the 8x8 website and Sign-In to My Account

2. Enter Login and Password

3. Click the Configure button(s) for each extension to be configured (i.e. 1014, 1015)

Setup General Call and VM Settings

1. You can apply the following features and information for the extension. Once done Click Next

Note: You can always modify these settings later on.

2. You will need to verify your E911 address, and then click Continue. If you need to make changes to the E911 address, click the link
“Click here to Edit the Address”

3. Now you can select a phone number for the extension. Then click Continue.

Activating your BPA 430

Now that your extensions are ready, you can now activate your device(s).

1. Find the MAC address on the label on the bottom of any BPA you have ordered.

2. Find the extension number of the device you want to activate and click Activate.

3. Hint: If you are not sure which extension is assigned to your device, click on the Account Number for that extension. It shows you what
device is assigned to that extension under Products. Then click My Accounts on the top left of the navigation bar to return to activating
your extensions.

4. Enter the MAC ID and click Submit. Do not include any colons or spaces. Just type in the letters and numbers. You will see a confirmation
that says “Your extension has been activated and is ready to use”. Repeat this same procedure for any other extensions using BPAs.

Installing your 8x8 Broadband Phone Adapter - BPA 430

1. Using the enclosed standard Ethernet cable, plug one end into a LAN (1) port on the back of your Broadband Phone Service Adapter. Plug
the other end of the Ethernet cable into your router/gateway, which is connected to your broadband modem.

(The second LAN port can act as an Ethernet switched port)

2. Plug the power supply into the DC IN (2) port at the back of the Broadband Phone Service Adapter and into an AC power outlet.

3. Plug your home analog telephone into the LINE 1 (3) port on the Broadband Phone Service Adapter.

(LINE 2 is only available after you activate a second line)

The Power LED should be a solid green light. The Link LED should blink intermittently.

Pick up the phone and you should hear a dial tone and the Line 1 LED will light up.

Making a Call for the First Time

To dial outside, dial 9 first then the number:


• Long Distance (9 1-415-654-1xxx)

• Local Calls (9 654-1xxx)

To dial internal, dial the extension number:


• 1001 (Extension)

• 555 (Voicemail)

• 444 (Auto Attendant)
