T SIMPLE:

We use this tense to Express habits, facts, senses and emotions. ( para expresar hábitos,
hechos o evidencias del mundo físico, sensaciones y emociones)

Tip: remember the 3rd person (he, she, it) has an “-s” added to the verb. In negative and
interrogative you need the auxiliary “DOES, DOESN’T”

Actions that are happening now. (Para expresar otras acciones que están ocurriendo en
el momento en que hablamos)
He isn’t reading aloud
Tip: It is formed by verb to BE + Verb-ING. The negative and interrogative, short
answers are expressed with to BE.

PAST SIMPLE:

Events that happened in the past; the action of the verb is finished. ( Acciones acabadas
en el momento de habla , o que ocurrieron en el pasado)
I lost my keys yesterday.
Tip: All the persons use auxiliary DID un the negative and interrogative. Remember
you must use the past form of regular (-ed) or irregular verbs (see list)in the affirmative;
But you must use the infinitive form for the negative and Interrogative.
I didn’t lose my keys yesterday.
Did I lose my keys yesterday?

Events that were in progress in the past. (Acciones que estaban en proceso en el
pasado.)
My husband was cooking when you called.

FUTURE SIMPLE:

Predictions and spontaneous decisions. (Se usa para hacer predicciones generales de
futuro, y para expresar decisiones espontáneas en el presente)
You’ll be rich in 2045.
You’re hot! Don’t worry, I will open the window!
Tip: WILL is a modal verb, so we don’t need any kind of auxiliary verb to form the
interrogative or negative. We just follow the rules for it as another auxiliary verb. We
make inversion in the interrogative Subject – Verb, etc.

I am going to travel to Paris next year.
Tip: be careful with those verbs which contain “go” because you cannot miss the second
“go”. For instance: I’m going to go to the disco.
You must also be cautious with missing the verb to BE. You cannot forget it!

Definite plans for the near future. We have certainty that something is going to happen
since we have scheduled a date, a flight in order to carry out the action.
I’m flying to Madrid tomorrow. (vuelo a Madrid Mañana)

Actions that began in the past and continue to the present or are connected to the
present. ( acciones que empezaron en el pasado y pueden estar conectadas con el
presente)

An activity that happened before another activity or time in the past. ( Acciones que

By the time you arrived, I had made the dinner.
