Management Installation Checklist

This document helps you to install and configure the latest release of Hyperion Business Performance
Management products successfully. It provides an overview of the installation procedure and considerations to be
aware of when you install multiple Hyperion products. Read this document first, before you install Hyperion
Business Performance Management products. For information about system requirements, refer to the Installation
Guide for each product. For late-breaking information and known issues, refer to the Readme for each product.

Installation Checklist
The following table lists the high-level tasks for installing and configuring Hyperion products. Steps related to
Hyperion Hub or external authentication apply only if you are using them. Not all products support Hyperion
Hub. See the list on the previous page for products that support Hyperion Hub. External authentication is required
if you are using Hyperion Hub.

✔ Installation and Configuration Steps Where to Find Details

1. Set up one or more external authentication repositories, using one of the Documentation for your
supported external authentication providers: Lightweight Directory Access external authentication
Protocol (LDAP), Microsoft Active Directory (MSAD), and Windows NT provider
LAN Manager (NTLM). In addition to native Hyperion single sign-on,
Hyperion applications can integrate with the Netegrity SiteMinder Web access
management solution.

2. Install Hyperion Hub. Notice the following requirements: Hyperion Hub


● If you are upgrading from a previous version of Hyperion Hub, uninstall the Installation Guide and
previous version before you install this release of Hyperion Hub. Hyperion Hub Readme
● Each Web application server requires configuration for use with Hyperion
Hub.
● If you are using SQL, Oracle, or DB2 for your database, ensure that a
database is created prior to configuring Hyperion Hub.

3. Run Hyperion Hub Configuration Console to do the following tasks: Hyperion Hub
● Configure the relational database to use with Hyperion Hub Installation Guide
● If upgrading from Hyperion Hub 7.0, migrate the relational database
● Configure external authentication for Hyperion Hub

4. Install the individual Hyperion products that you want to use. Notice the The Installation Guide

<drive letter>:\<HYPERION_HOME>\common
● Hyperion setup programs use the initial installation location that you
specify for <HYPERION_HOME> for all subsequent Hyperion product
installations.
● Each Web application server requires configuration for use with Hyperion
products.
● See the Installation Guide for each product for recommendations on
installing in a distributed environment.
● If you are upgrading from a previous version of a Hyperion product, see the
upgrading chapter in the Installation Guide for that product.

8. Register each product with Hyperion Hub. For Hyperion Financial The Administrator’s

9. If you are using Hyperion Hub with Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Financial Hyperion Hub Readme
