Work experience
November 2010 Visual Art Challenge 2010
Participant at the national digital art competition with the illustration entitled “Falling
from a dream”
September 2009 – October 2010 IDEA Studios, Cluj-Napoca
Art Director / Designer
Idea Studios concentrates on producing free internet games for children such as
casual games, hidden objects and quiz games.
My tasks included creating all the stages of game design (character design,
background, game interface, items, and title screen) and the graphic section of web
design (header, banner, buttons, interface, icons).
As an art director I was responsible for the graphic quality of the games produced
by IDEA Studios, supervising and guiding 5 graphic designers.
January - May 2009 Phoenix Institute, Cluj-Napoca
Graphics teacher
The Phoenix Institute is a non-profit organization which offers teenagers and adults
with physical and mental disabilities graphic design courses to easily integrate in
social and professional life.
I took part in a five month program teaching three groups of students the basics of
drawing, graphic arts and a short history of graphic design and illustration. The
classes were structured as a creative workshop ensuring a good communication
and working atmosphere with the students.
June 2008 University of Art and Design Graduates Exhibition, Cluj-Napoca
Graduate student
My graduation project entitled “Fey” was based on personal experiences and on my
interest for graphic art, illustration and print making. I used a complex structure of
engraving techniques (etching, aquatint, mezzotint) with the outgoing freedom of
creating my own characters.
2
Dynamic work flow and team work improvement during various projects at IDEA Studios.(2009/2010)
I enjoy maintaining a good and friendly atmosphere with the people I work with.
3
Personal interests Watching animation films is a big passion of mine (MGM, Walt Disney-Pixar,
Warner Bros., Studio Gibli, Bluth Studios, Russian animation) and I study
experimental animation that uses mixed techniques. I am especially interested in 3
D animation and the processes that form this complex form of CG.
I enjoy reading about CG artists and their work; I watch behind the scenes
documentaries of movies and animation films which help me understand the
connections between 2D and 3D graphics that form the special effects.
One of my great interests is to follow the video game industry developments, and to
learn about the creative process involved within the game concept. I often study
artist’s sketchbooks from various international production studios.
