the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Jeremiah 1:5

prophet to the nations.”

“…I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for
me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“…For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you a hope and a future…”
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Genesis 2:16-17
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not
eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”
Isaiah 59:1-2
“Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have
separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life.”
I Corinthians 15:3-4, 2:1-2, 1:23
• For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
• When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the
testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him
crucified.
• but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles
Colossians 1:21, 2:13-14
• Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.
• When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with
Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us
and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.
Hebrews 9:26-28
Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared
once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Just as man is destined to die once,
and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear
a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
I Peter 2:22-24
“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” When they hurled their insults at him, he did
not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself
bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have
been healed.
Romans 1:4
…and who thought the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection
from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
I John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all
unrighteousness.
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of
your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit...”
Romans 10:9-10
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you
confess and are saved.
Luke 14:25-33
Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: “If anyone comes to me and does not
hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my
disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. “Suppose one of you wants to
build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he
lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to
build and was not able to finish.’ “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit
down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty
thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of
peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.”
