PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Hygenic Corporation, Akron, OH
Manufactures a wide variety of natural and synthetic rubber tubing and sheeting
products for medical, laboratory and industrial applications.
Lead - Latex Casting Line 2009 - 2010
Restarted the latex casting operation in the Akron Plant which had been dormant
for > 5 years.
Trained new line personnel in basic operating procedures, which required review
and update of file documents and hands-on demonstration of proper technique, wit
h special attention to safety issues and what to do in the event of problems.
Revised operating procedures to current standards, observing line operations and
making equipment modifications to improve quality and reduce waste.
Once on line, the operation became the new standard of efficiency, surpassing th
e Malaysia facility in product yield.
Plant Manager 2005 - 2009
Managed the day-to-day operations, including production requirements, maintenanc
e of a safe work environment, and regulatory compliance oversight.
Introduced and implemented a series of productivity improvements, including lean
manufacturing techniques and kaizen practices which led to plant-wide productiv
ity improvements.
Reduced shipping time from 14 days to a maximum of 3 days, with the bulk of prod
uct shipping in 24 hours.
Reduced space in the milling operation by 30% by eliminating excess inventory on
the production floor and improving product flow in production operations.
Director of Manufacturing 1996 - 2005
Managed plant operations for three plants in Akron, each with unique processes a
nd needs, during a time of rapid corporate change, including HCM in full product
ion, the sale of a major division, and new ownership of a family-run business to
a private equity group.
Played lead role in workforce restructure to conform to labor requirements of ne
w acquisition owners.

Worked closely with engineering planning and construction of a 5600 pallet site
narrow aisle high bay warehouse.
Sourced the equipment and racking for new warehouse.
Worked with the data processing department to establish the labeling, tracking,
and data management system for manufacturing.
Managing Director HCM, Malaysia 1994 - 1996
Spearheaded the planning, start-up and construction of a new company manufacturi
ng facility in Malaysia. Negotiated contracts and provided performance and opera
tions management with oversight for a $5.5M budget.
Served as liaison to local government officials and businesses to acquire licens
es, services, raw materials, and equipment necessary for manufacturing and expor
t.
