Work Experience Highlights
March 2006 July 2010
Senior Structural/CAD Drafter
E. A. Bonelli + Associates
Oakland, California
In this position, I worked on numerous projects as the Senior Structural Drafter
using AutoCad 2007 2010 and Revit 2010 and 2011. This position required that I
coordinate with the Architectural side of the firm to x-ref the architectural a
nd MEP drawings into the structural files as backgrounds, I would then work with
the Engineers to add the required structural line-work.
Creating elevations, sections, and details was common.
While using Revit, I collaborated with the assigned Architect to create the 3D b
uildings from foundation footings to roof including all of the structural member
s. Additionally, I had to create company specific families of common footings, g
rade beams and box beams and project specific walls (i.e. insulated walls and wa
lls with parapets).
When not working on assigned projects, I was asked to rewrite and update the Dra
fting Standards, and bring the existing Typical Structural Details up to meet th
e Drafting Standard. After updating the typical details I went a step further an
d created PDF files of the drawings for easier access to all users.

CAD Drafter
MBH Architects
Alameda, California
In this position, I worked on numerous projects in the Retail Studio including n
ew stores and remodels for Target Corporation using both AutoCad 2005 and Micros
tation V8. In addition to completing full drawing packages, I frequently contact
ed the Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Structural consultants for coordination
of disciplines and problem solving; this also included coordination with the cli
ent for changes and updates.
Basic responsibilities for drawing package completion included creation or modif
ication of client store sets, which are prototype drawing sets that must be chan
ged or, in some cases completely redrawn, to meet the requirements of the new or
remodeled store. Creating elevations, sections, and details was common. Also, u
pdating, redrawing or creating Power and Signal Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans,
Site Line Studies, and Exiting Diagrams were often required based on consultant
feedback. To expedite the process creating of Exiting Diagrams, I created an Exc
el Spreadsheet that incorporates the requirements of building, plumbing and safe
ty codes (UBC, IBC, CBC, IPC, ADA, OSHA, etc.) for the particular building squar
e footage and number of plumbing fixtures per person.
When not working on an assigned project, I helped other designers in completing
their store project or Plan Check Comment Responses and redline incorporation.

Detail Drafter/Designer
EBM Construction, Inc.
Oakland, California
My responsibilities as a Detail Drafter at EBM Construction, Inc. included, but
was not limited to, production of structural and ornamental steel shop drawings,
the review of bid drawings, field verification of dimensions and the submittal
of RFIs (Request For Information). This required an extensive knowledge of each
of the main components in an architectural drawing set; site plans, floor plans,
ceiling plans, roof plans, building sections, exterior and interior elevations,
and details. Additionally, a working knowledge of all applicable building and s
afety codes (i.e. ICBO, UBC, AISC, ACI, ADA, OSHA, etc.) was required to ensure
acceptance from the client and building inspectors.
Bid drawing review entailed a full review of architectural drawings to estimate
the total amount of structural and ornamental steel required in the project. I w
rote and submitted RFIs to the client to either clarify the architectural detail
s or recommend alternative designs in areas where the architectural details were
ambiguous or could not be produced due to inconsistencies in the details.
As a precursor to creating the final shop drawings, I had to make on-site visits
to the client projects to field verify all measurements for the structural and
ornamental steel. I also coordinated the delivery of products to the site and fr
equently conferred with the site managers / supervisors to ensure that all prepa
rations for the installation of the steel components were completed.

ECO Configuration Analyst
Johnson Controls - Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, NIF Project
Livermore, California
This was a 6-month contract position working in a team of four ECO Analysts on t
he National Ignition Facility Project. My major responsibilities were to review,
create, and process ECRs/ECOs using Matrix One, Pro-E, and Pro-Interlink to ins
ure that the drawings and models were released to purchasing at a rate of 2-3 pa
rts per hour. Our goal was to release 4500 of 8000 parts in six months or less.
The team was able exceed to the goal by 1200 parts in 5-1/2 months!
In addition to ECO processing, I was given the task of training the engineers an
d designers to use Matrix One This required a thorough understanding of the Chan
ge Management Process, Matrix One, Pro-E, Pro-Interlink and how the programs in
teracted with each other to release parts.
I also volunteered to help develop an ECR Process that was more streamlined to f
it with the Matrix One program.

Contracted Store Planner
Target Corporation Mervyns
Hayward, California
As a Contracted Store Planner, my responsibilities included the development of t
he interior design and documentation of all stores on Microstation and AutoCad 2
004. This included fixture planning and adjacencies for all departments in the s
tores. Specifically, I developed floor plans that depicted the initial placement
of fixtures in new or remodeled departments in accordance with Merchandise Plan
ning/Development (MPD) proposals, but at the same time adhering to corporate and
federal requirements for fixture placement and ADA accessibility.
I also coordinated the final review and distribution of all plans as they were c
ompleted. This aspect of Store Planner included working closely with the Project
Manager, Visual Planning, Store Communications, the New Fixture Design Team, an
d outside contractors as required to insure that the new floor plans were implem
ented correctly and to document any discrepancies in fixture design or placement
. As part of the implementation of the upgrade project, I would occasionally vis
it the stores to document and update existing floor plans, then update the CAD D
atabase before developing the new fixture plan.
