QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER
(OILFIELD ENGINEERING & QUALITY CONTROL)
1 INTRODUCTION
Unlike other Engineering disciplines, syllabus
and subjects covered in Mechanical Engineering is
very vast. After completing the studies, it is very
difficult for Mechanical Engineers to take direct
responsibility in any organization because activities
involved in each industry is different from the
other and specialized training is needed
Comparing all other types of mechanical
engineering industries, number of opportunities
are more in Mechanical construction companies,
especially in the Oil fields and their related
industries. These types of industries need hundreds
of Mechanical Engineers for each projects but
facing serious problems in getting experienced and
talented candidates who can handle the
responsibilities such as Design, Planning,
Procurement, Construction, Piping, Weld Testing,
Inspection, Quality Control etc. Such organizations
do not have any system of providing training for
fresh Mechanical Engineers because it is not
economical and practical due to various reasons.
Exclusively for Mechanical Engineers, Induscan
Petroleum Institute has designed, developed and
executed the course of Oilfield Engineering and
Quality Control, since February 2002. Providing
professional training, proper exposure and perfect
placements, Induscan Petroleum Institute could
construct a strong bridge between Mechanical
Engineers and the Oilfields.

2 JOB GUARANTY
It is not necessary to guarantee jobs for the Quality
Control Engineers who have successfully
completed the course of Oilfield Engineering and
Quality Control from Induscan Petroleum
Institute. However, according to the institution’s
placement policy we ensure job for 25% candidates
of each batch. At the same time this institution
make sincere effort to help all the remaining
students in finding a suitable job in the Oilfield &

3 THE COURSE
3.1 GENERAL
“ Q u a l i t y C o n t ro l E n g i n e e r ” ( O i l f i e l d
Engineering & Quality Control) is an Oilfield
Specialization course for Mechanical Engineers.
Candidates after successful completion of this
course are capable of handling various
responsibilities of Oilfield Construction
independently just like an Engineer with minimum
three years of relevant experience.

of Kerala as well as other states of India do
specialization in Oilfield Engineering & Quality
Control from this Institution. The course not only
related to Quality Control but the syllabus is so
designed that students can get best job in any of the

3.3. EXAMINATION & CERTIFICATION
Modular examination is conducted after completion
of each module of the syllabus. Certificate of
“QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER” will be
issued for successful students after final examination
by Induscan Petroleum Institute.
Supplementary examinations will be conducted for
ASNT Level II certifications in Radiographic Test
(RT), Ultrasonic Test (UT) Magnetic particle Test
(MT) and Penetrant test (PT) by Level III examiner
of American Society for Non Destructive test
(ASNT). The ASNT certificates have international
validity and are issued as annexure to the certificate
of Quality Control Engineer.
3.4. QUALIFICATION FORADMISSION
BE or B Tech Mechanical Engineering is the basic
qualification required for admission. Those who are
awaiting final semester result as well as those who
have to attend supplementary examinations shall
also apply.
3.5. REGISTRATION
Properly filled application form along with a copy of
BE/ B Tech certificate shall be submitted either in
person or through website.(info@induscan.net) Pay
the registration fee ( Rs. 1000/-) demand draft from
any bank in favor of “Induscan Petroleum Institute,
payable at Nilambur or shall pay in cash. Candidates
shall submit evidence for their qualification during
admission.
3.6. FEE INSTALMENTS
