Saved $54,000 by proposing and adapting the Oracle iSupport application to be us


ed at AT&T as the primary communication vehicle between the Oracle Financials ap
plication DBAs and their clients. Led functional and technical support for the
application and implemented 3 major upgrades. Planned the required patches, dev
eloped a detailed spreadsheet of over 200 steps, performed functional and speed
drill testing, post-upgrade setup and verification. Reduced service request tur
n around time and improved customer service. Developed and delivered training t
o clients.
Successfully implemented 3 major upgrades to the Oracle Financials application s
uite. Worked closely with team members to test and refine the process. Worked
as part of a team in around the clock shifts to apply designated patches, setup
data and validate the application after the upgrade.
Utilized vendor software to create scaled-down Oracle Financials databases for d
evelopment and testing. Reduced the need for additional disk space and permitte
d additional test and development instances. Served as point person that analyz
ed and prototyped the software for the purchase decision. Installed, set up and
tested the software. Developed detailed run procedures for software execution.
Redesigned the team's monthly maintenance processing procedures to achieve a zer
o down time level for a period of 5 years. Reduced monthly maintenance errors a
nd shortened monthly maintenance window by designing a work plan to detail all a
ctivities, personnel and inter-group coordination.
Led the effort to re-host the Oracle Financials application suite from a Pyramid
hardware platform to Hewlett-Packard. This effort included 30 Oracle contracto
rs and employees from Hewlett-Packard and EMC Corporation. Reduced the batch ru
n times by 50%.
Directed a quality assurance team for the Oracle Financials application suite.
Organized, structured and staffed the team from the conceptual stage. Recruited
and trained 11 employees in testing methodology and concepts. Reduced producti
on problems and structured software releases. Implemented testing tools such as
TestDirector to accelerate the development of test cases and track defects. De
veloped and implemented a software development life cycle methodology for the Or
acle Financials organization. Developed templates for project charters, cost es
timation, test plans and test cases. Created Software Configuration Management
procedures. Acted as methodology consultant to applications in the Corporate Fi

Staffed and supervised a team of 19 people for quality assurance and hardware su
pport for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company's service negotiation system. Dev
eloped and executed system test plans for over 1 million lines of code. Perform
ed capacity planning and purchased over $10 million in hardware. Provided techn
ical support and coordinated hardware installation for 5 data centers. Administ
ered the capital and expense budgets for the system.
Conceptualized, designed and developed a batch scheduler agent to interface with
Oracle's Concurrent Manager for the mechanized submission of 300 - 1000 batch j
obs each night based on workday and job dependencies. Eliminated the day-to-day
manual submission of jobs by clients and developers that are required to update
the financial data and close the books.
Represented the Information Services Network group for planned selection of new
Operations Support Systems for Broadband technology. Consulted on architecture,
industry standards and implementation of Broadband Operations Support Systems i
ncluding fiber to the curb. Coordinated with Information Services Legacy applic
ations to leverage new common services and develop future migration plans to Bro
adband Operations Support Systems. Acted as a liaison for Information Services
to Network and other departments. Coordinated with vendors to insure adherence
to company architectural standards and interoperability.
Developed a non-regulated customer premises inventory application to support the
Network and Marketing Departments on a Sun UNIX platform based on object orient
ed design and C++. Supervised a team of 5 to identify requirements and build th
e application. Determined the hardware, software and toolsets for the developme
nt platform. Created capital and expense forecasts for project completion. Con
structed a prototype for proof of concept and to assist with requirements gather
ing. Authored user documentation and performed system testing.
Performed key roles in the construction of applications to replace out-dated man
ual processing. Analyzed, designed, developed and tested applications to reduce
