Shift Manager / Project Manager
As the Shift manager / Project Manager I am responsible for many administrative
procedures for the operations of a growing Traffic Data Center (JTMC) Joint Tran
sportation Management Center. New York State Dept. of Transportation (NYSDOT).
Responsible for scheduling all operations desk staff (including vacations, sick
leaves, etc).
Manage JTMC Operations during respective shift in collaboration with traffic age
ncies.
* Oversight of personnel and policy issues of shifts, resolving control room pro
blems and staff complaints (conferring with Operations Manager where needed)
* Understand and review day-to-day consultant operations, ensuring entire consul
tant staff is aware of new protocols and enforcing existing ones (lateness, call
outs, security, etc).
* Provide input on procedures and make recommendations to where appropriate.
* Enforce all JTMC system protocols and policies (data entry, incident notificat
ions, system reporting, etc).
* Write-up and document Company's policies and operational procedures including
NYSDOT SOP for the JTMC.
* Provide input for VMS and HAR messages for all incidents and planned events.
* Supervise and assist Lead Operators and System Operators during specified shif
t, filling in for shifts when necessary. Delegate duties and tasks to shift sta
ff members
* Coordinate with and provide support to Operations Manager, the Construction Co
ordinator and Special Incident Coordinator, for any / all tasks.
* Participate in candidate interviews and assist with new employee training
* Responsible for and supervise personnel of approximately 21 employees where I
rectify any personnel or operational issues among the staff.
* Responsible for scheduling all employees including managers; approximately 32
employees.
* Delve into Vendor Management (Purchased scheduling software) and correspond wi
th consultants regarding maintenance and upgrades of software.
* Deal partially with the Contract Budget regarding hourly wages and overtime.
* In charge of employee invoices for Eng-Wong, Taub staff that is contracted by
NYSDOT.
* Document all phases of the life cycles for all JTMC software initiatives.

Systems Operator/Acting Lead Operator/Project Manager Trainee
As a Systems Operator and Acting Lead Operator, developed Civil Engineering skil
ls for a growing Engineering Firm of New York and New Jersey. Leads a team of e
mployees in the daily operations of a growing Traffic Data Center (JTMC) Joint T
ransportation Management Center. New York State Dept. of Transportation (NYSDOT
).
Investigate and resolve internal concerns in collaboration with respective traff
ic agencies.
* Monitor via CCTVs and document the flow of traffic on the major roadways and b
ridges of the city.
* Redirect and correct existing traffic delays and road conditions to maintain c
onsistent traffic patterns.
* Inform and direct the proper personnel (Construction EIC, NYPD, NYCDOT, OER, O
EM, DEP) of the best route to accident sites and civil engineering operations su
ch as Roadwork and Emergency Construction.
* Issued reports on faulty equipment to ensure repairs via trouble tickets.
* Part of a Project Team of the 511 telephony line testing and deployment phase
for NYSDOT. (10/1/08 - 08/7/09) - Responsible for all QA/QC of 511 Telephony lin
e and website (511ny.org). Set the standard protocol for all NYSDOT Regions (1-
11) for testing the cellular phone carriers (I.E. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint) in rega
rds to routing calls to 511.
* Involved in testing all new systems and software that are deployed at JTMC. D
ocument the results, and present documentation to the Clients and Regional Direc
tors of NYSDOT. I.E SMARTS Software, 511ny.org website testing including the IV
R system prior to and during deployment.
* A trainee of the Project Manager of the Data Center JTMC, undergoing training
of NYSDOT operations. Learning the budget, Risk Management, Opening and Closing
of a project (Project Lifecycles), attending conference calls with the Clients
and Regional Directors of NYSDOT. Learning the intricacies of Traffic Managemen
t and Traffic Engineering, along with learning the integration of Systems. Lear
ning the process of writing RFP's (Request for Proposals).

Serve as a Supervising Facilitator for not-for-profit organization; facilitate a
nd implement a mentoring program for underserved youth 12-19 yrs. old and help p
