Responsibilities include the development/project management of the claim, member
ship, provider, premium, group, benefit and UM/Clinical subject area data struct
ures, analysis/reporting applications (HEDIS, Provider
Profiling, Utilization Management/Case Management, Medical Cost Analysis, Custom
er Reporting, Capitation Settlement), the direct supervision of 21 business and
programmer analysts and the cooperative effort of working
with internal client areas (Corporate Statistical Analysis, Actuarial Services,
Underwriting, Internal Audit, Utilization Management and Clinical Quality Manage
ment), external clients (Quest Diagnostics, Signal Radiological Group, instituti
onal and professional providers) and external hardware and software vendors (The
Medstat Group, IBM and C.W. Costello and Associates). Additional responsibiliti
es include adhoc analysis and reporting support for internal and external client
s (customer reporting).
Serve as the Utilization Review Program IT Manager for the concept definition, s
ystem analysis and design, implementation and support of the BCBSCT Utilization
Management Managed Care System. Responsibilities include the development/project
management of the firm/group, membership and provider data feeds to the UM Mana
ged Care System, the evaluation, selection, installation and maintenance of the
Baxter Optimed Medical System software, all data feeds from the Baxter Optimed M
edical System to the claims processing system, design, development and implement
ation of all BCBSCT managed care cost savings, daily census, utilization analysi
s, large case management and provider profiling reports for internal and externa
l clients, direct supervision of 10 Development/System/Information Analysts and
the ongoing Optimed System support, vendor management (Pyramid, Baxter Optimed M
edical Systems), data analysis, data extract and reporting support to five depar
tments of 60+ nurse clinicians and medical directors.
Serve as the Senior Business/Programmer Analyst for the concept definition, syst
em analysis and design, development, implementation and support of the BCBSCT Pr
ovider Incentive and Risk Withhold System. Responsibilities include the creation
of the claim, membership and provider subject area data structures, the creatio
n of provider utilization, provider patient panel and provider budget reports an
d the creation of care management, incentive and risk withholding payments and e
xplanation of payment information
sent to providers.
Serve as a Business/Programmer Analyst for the concept definition, system analys
is and design, development, implementation and turnover of the BCBSCT Risk Manag
ement System. Responsibilities include the creation
of the claim, membership, provider and premium subject area data structures and
the creation of both routine and adhoc statistical analysis and reconciliation r
eports.
