EXPERIENCE
June 2007 - November 2010
I worked as a customer service representative for the AAA Insurance Agency. My j
ob was to accept incoming calls from customers and respond to their questions re
garding their home and auto insurance policies. I also processed transactions fo
r those policies at the customer's request. The work involved interaction with s
everal major insurance companies AAA is an agency for, such as Citizens, Travele
rs, Metropolitan and Progressive.
May 2002 - April 2007
As a Reader / Scorer for Measurement Incorporated, it was my job to evaluate sch
ool student answers in organization, focus, creation of supporting ideas, and th
e studentsa competence in following specific instructions. The projects were tem
porary in duration, with the last one ending April 18, 2007.
October 2002 - December 2006
I worked as a Research Interviewer for the Nielsen Company. My primary job was t
o recruit scientifically selected households across the United States, for the p
urpose of having them participate in media research about television viewing. I
also conducted surveys on the American publicas opinions about sports, entertain
ment and various consumer products. It was required that I demonstrated appropri
ate interpersonal skills, work procedures and responses to all potential househo
ld issues.
September 2001 - June 2002
I worked as a Sales Representative for National Health Care Discount. I offered
a prescription/optical discount plan through outbound calls to prospective custo
mers, who had been pre-qualified by Lead Generators. I held the job of Lead Gene
rator, prior to being promoted to Sales Representative in December 2001.
August 2000 - December 2001
I was a Home Agent Subscription Sales Representative for Special Data Processing
Corporation. I accepted incoming calls generated by sweepstakes entry invitatio
ns mailed to most states in the U.S. Working at home with my computer (SDPC furn
ished the software package) and telephone. I presented qualified callers with a
magazine subscription offer. Interested, qualified callers were then transferred
to a billing supervisor, who had the task of closing the sale. I also transferr
ed callers to hear AT&T long distance service offers or a travel package deal, w
hen applicable.
April 1997 - December 2000
I have worked through various temporary agencies (including Accountants on Call
and Accountemps) doing general accounting and clerical work for a number of firm
s. In this capacity, I have gained experience in:

May 1987- March l997
For almost ten years, I held the position of Bank Teller for First American Bank
of VA, which became the First Union Bank of VA through its purchase by the latt
er entity in 1993. My duties included the processing of customer transactions, s
elling various bank services, acting as a custodian for the automated teller mac
hine, and furnishing relevant information on banking services. This position, li
ke the temporary ones, required familiarity with in-house computer programs, whi
ch were used for data entry, account research and the conduct of banking transac
tions for our customers.
