Introduction:The word reflection bears, writing something reflective becomes very meaningful and fruitful in the process of learning,

Reflective learning journal is well-accepted by many educators and teachers because it helps students to narrow the gaps between theories and practice, and most importantly help students to constantly monitoring their learning progress. Learning should not be a passive process of simply in-taking information from teachers and lecturers, but rather an active process that requires a lot of personal thinking and questioning (Susan E. George, 1997). Reflective journals are not a very new revolutionary learning technique, scholars, prophets and gurus using it from the ancient times to teach and remind their learning and experiences thats why we have the very old books like rig vedas, Bible and kuran etc. This reflection journal exercise is my further three learning of Managerial Skills Workshop encourage me to write down my learning experiences.

Week 4:In the process of learning to learn and know more about people skills Murray discussed us a story of blind mountaineer Erik Weihenmayer and his Mt. Everest expedition, Erik lost his eyesight at the age of 13 because of very rare eye disease called rentinoschisis. For Erik, the key was acceptance--not to fight his disability but to learn to work within it; not to transcend it but to understand fully what he was capable of achieving within it; not to pretend he had sight but to build systems that allowed him to excel without it ( Greenfeld, 2001, pp. 6). It was the time when he took 13 hours to reach from base climb to camp 1, while the assigned time was 7 hours and everybody in team worrying about the success of the expedition because of him and the next morning he shift his performance and took just 5 hours to cross the 10 passes. Despite being a blind but he is very strong from mind and he knows about his body strength. Finally he achieved the great achievement in the extreme conditions. While writing the journal its very inspiring to me that how Erik develop his disability to his strength and as a human being I also have weaknesses and in future while working on the managerial position to lead the organisation, I need to transform them to my strength as being a successful manager. Later in the lecture we dicuss about leadership. Leadership is the process of influencing people and providing an environment for them to achieve team or organisational objectives. Leadership

basically a transformational process inspiring and challenging subordinates and setting a personal example.

( UB, 2011, Slide 20) In the process of discussing leadership, we discuss about how great leaders inspire through hope and vision and to accomplish their vision they tuned their mind, body, heart and spirit. I had the story of Elizabeth Balckburn, She has the vision that body has self heeling technique and she dedicated her 25 yrs of research to find out that technique or to accomplished her vision. Its a great inspiring reflection for me that never ever give up in the process of find out some complex organizational problems there was the solution, is a solution and will be a solution just apply yours skills and you will get success. While under going through process I remind one very good inspiring story of King Robert Bruce and the Spider, that how king inspire from a spider through her continuously attempt to climb the web until she get success. In the class activity I discussed the feedback from Murray on my 1st reflection journal with my dyad that how we can more improve our reflection skills through workshop learning and we analysis that this kind of metaphor learning style in which some times while discussing the situation we feel that we relive the character and the experience we got from the role plays must be reflected in our journal skills like above 8000 meters height when there is very less oxygen in

the air and generally mind goes to negative thoughts, what was the thoughts came to Erik mind and Where Rob Hall goes wrong? While applying my mind on situation like this correlate them with managerial problems that what will be my decision situation like this? These exercise really push me to think about these scenario think deep in the logical way to come out best possible solution. In last the Murray given us one activity that we have to prepare 5 minute presentation on one Nobel Prize winner personality in the next week.

Week 5:Great leadership start with the vision. A leader has the vision and hope that a dream can be achieved. They inspires the power and energy to get it done. Hope engages and raises our spirit and mobilizes energy. It causes us to want to act and enables us to draw on personal resources in the service of moving toward our goal.

I had gone through the life of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, He had the vision to get freedom for Indian people on the principles of Non- Violence. Bill Gates had vision and to he created path breaking computer science technology. In the workshop we discussed about the

Ricky Ponting former Australian cricket captain, his journey as being a captain and a leader that how one night incident change his career and later on he came out a great leader for his team and nation. While working on the reflection all these great leadership qualities push me to think about my vision for my organization and create resonance among subordinate staff and colleague to make my dreams comes true. I believe most businesses were started because the founder had a vision about what he or she could create. Sharing that vision with others in a way that compels them to act on a successful leadership vision. Later on the workshop we discussed about the difference between the manager and leader like mangers Always has eye on bottom line, Imitates, Maintains, Accepts status quo, Does things right and on the other hand leaders Has their eye on horizon, Originates, Develops, Challenges status quo, Does the right thing. Sometime, I so much confused that in the workshop we talked so much about leadership and great leaders but actually this a managerial skills workshop and why not on the very successful managers? who had done exceptionally well for their organisation and try to find out the answer myself the main emphasis is on the soft skills and leaders are the perfect match for the soft skills, because managers know how to get the work done through workers, But leaders influence and motivate the people to achieve the common goal. Task are same but technique is different, might be he wants or i want be great blend of both good leadership and managerial skills and this is way this reflection works. In last we discussed about the Harrison Assessment Test performed on the Mr. Greg Mitchell, NASA scientist and thoroughly study his personality on parameters of Takes Initiative, Wants Challenge, Influencing, Optimistic, Persistent, Authoritative, Wants to lead, Analytical, effective enforcing, Collaborative, Pressure Tolerance, Enthusiastic, Self-acceptance, Manages Stress Well, defensive, Forceful enforcing, Permissive, etc. Murray wants me to put ourselves into under stressed position and evaluate yourself according to the Harrison Assessment that how I perform very critical managerial competencies such as communications, decision making, creativity, interpersonal skills, leadership, team effectiveness, support, motivation, self worth, organizational skills and how I deals with power, authority and autonomy. I believe that it will be great learning technique to work on my weaker areas so that I can achieve success to my role in the organization.

Week 6:We know that leading is rational it look after the relationship. Leaders and their followers are very closely bonded to each others and where as the managing is transactional, looks very selffish activity. Sometimes in the course of accomplishing the task we compromise with the ethics or behave very unethically to achieve our task like Murray discuss us a very current story of about Dr, Jan Smith, Psychologist from Melbourne to climb Mt. Everest for her personal dream at the age of 67yrs with the help of two sherpas. Her daughter consider this is unethically to endanger the life of sherpas. We also discuss the doctrine terra nullius come into existence when in 1788 Englishmen first landed to Australia and they treated it as a no man land despite they know the fact that aboriginal people are the native of this land from the last of couple thousands years ago. Later on it became a big ethical issue. Formulating and following a clear set of ethical values is considered a prerequisite for developing management skills. It is not sufficient to have a commitment to a set of ethical values. It is also necessary to have a level of self awareness that can identify your own unconscious and subtle prejudices and biases in management practice (Adams, Harris and Carley 1998). So its very important for me while acting a future manager to make my decision on ethical grounds in the welfare of subordinate staff, organisation and the society. Later all the students participating one simulation class activity to better understand the meaning of simulation learning. Murray asked us to close our eyes and put our right hand on the shoulder of the front person and walk on the instructions of the Murray, Just being as a blind and depending upon the front person and Murrays instruction and on walking my mind straight way focused on the Erik expedition on Mt. Everest to relive the character that I am walking on the Everest and thinking about the thoughts that how will be my life if as a blind? Simulation learning means that giving a real life scenario or situation to the trainee to apply the acquired classroom or workshop skills through computer based simulation technique . Simulation makes imitated situations available to the learner to practice and hone necessary skills, rather than having them jump right into the real experiencewhere a do-or-die mentality can often make the individual nervous and unconfident ( NovaSim, May 2006 ).

Finally, In the last Murray asked to give our presentation on the Nobal Prize laureate personality, the moment I was nervous most just to think. I encourages and pushed myself every time one person completed his task. But at last I stand up, My assigned year was 2004 and I select Wangari Muta Maathai, The Nobel Peace Prize 2004 was awarded to Wangari Maathai for her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace. She was the first black woman
and the first environ-mentalist to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, Maathai was best known as the

founder of the Green Belt Movement (GBM), an initiative to plant trees in forested areas of Kenya that were being stripped for commercial expansion. Most of the people involved with GBM are rural African women who, over the years, have planted nearly thirty million trees. As a result they have reaped the rewards of food, fuel, shelter, and employment. She is a great leader and I am very inspired and motivates from her contribution to the society and nation specially her efforts in the welfare of the woman. I prepared the very well on her achievements, but while at the presentation I got nervous and blank from mind about her even I have the notes in my hands but still I am not able to read. While writing this reflection , I rated myself that it was a very poor presentation and I really need to improve my skills and need to hold my nervous in situation like this.

Conclusion:The Reflective journal has made me consolidate my learning by forcing me to document what I have done and what I have observed. It gives me the gives me a opportunity to summaries what I have learn in past weeks. While in the course of the writing I continuously refined my thoughts and relive some great leaders characters and situation they faced through this process of reflection. I found that extremely useful because I could learn more and use this knowledge in

future practical. The journal has made me more active and more involved in solving problems. Normally whenever I encounter any problems I just ignore them but now with the help the journal I become more active and tackle all the problems head on.I believe that reflective journal is designed to help me think deeply about my learning experience and it encourages me to write down evaluation of my learning experience. In future I am the person who is going to get benefit from writing down my own experiences and thoughts and remind them what I had learned from in the course learning and try to implemented the various learned skills to attain success to my role as a manager.
