Students recognize there are many substances in which the chemicals are used.

Students realize that the chemicals used in food to get flavour,colour and for preservation of food.

Sequential learning activity Evaluation T: Good Afternoon Students. In the previous class we have discussed about the various chemicals used in the Soap,Shampoo,Tooth paste.Do you think it is the only things in which chemicals are used? In food also we are using many chemicals.Do you know which are the purposes for which the chemicals are used?

Students recognize that salt is a good preservative.

You might have seen your mother putting goose berriesor mangoes insalt.Do you know why she does like that?

Students recognize that vinegar is also a preservative.

You might also have seen your mother putting lemon and all in acetic acid(i.e.vinegar)

Ya, for that yellow colour is due to the chemical named Tartrazine and for blue colour we use Indigocarmine. You might have heard about Erythrocytes. What is it?

Evaluation

Students recognize that Erythrocytes are the Red blood cells

Ya, Erythro means Red $ Cytes means Cells As the R.B.C.is in Red colour it is called as Erythrocytes.Like wise the chmical which is used for Red colour is Erythrocine
