In order to be a margin doodler, first one must have margins.

Margin Mailart

Calgary, Alberta February 27,

Looking at the paintings I have found over the last year has resulted in quite a few of them being not to my liking. However, as all of them were on illustration board of various plys I thought they might make excellent mailart items. In painting over the stuff I had an idea to play with the literal concept of margin doodling. A central image surrounded by a painted border that I would doodle on. Fifteen paintings got covered and fteen paintings were made using the time honoured technique of nger painting (which was a lot of fun). I decided that the doodles would be of various cartoon elements I have created over the years. Quizzical Suns, Lollipop Trees, Mitten Clouds comprise the majority of the doodles and there are a couple of paintings that have a domino theme as I intend to send one of those paintings to Vincent Pons (http://ponsvinc.blogspot.com/) as he has a thing with dominoes.
