According to The Bhagavada Gita ( 14. XVIII) there are five causes of work.

Adhisthanam tatha karta karanam ca prthag -vidham Vividhas - ca prthak -cesta daivam caivatra pancamam -Dr. Mala Sinha ADHISTHANA-The body, sense organs, internal organs and physiological system and the mind give physical expressiondetermines the outcome of wrk. KARTA-the sense of 'I' (ego) carries the impulse and motivation to work. CESATAH-Different kinds of competencies, skills, efforts and knowledge that we use make up the force of actions in work KARANA-The powers of nature - temperature, air, light, gravity, humidity etc are essential for

accomplishing work DAIVAM-The universal intelligence that corrects, balances and bestows results in order to maintain order and equity in the cosmos determines the outcome of work.

Work when the five causes are FIT

When we are fit in mind and body( adhisthana ), we have energy and stamina and display a positive attitude while working. A wholesome sense of "I" ( karta ) makes us responsible and motivated at work. Efforts in the form of using our skills , competencies , knowledge and creativity is the force ( cesatah) that accomplishes work. The powers of nature in the form of air conditioning, physical ambiance, food anf nourishment that we consume etc is the ( karana) and the most taken for granted aspect of work .Finally success which is the outcome of work is apportioned by the omni intelligence ( daivam) which is also refer to by other names like , God, luck, or divine grace.

Work when the five causes are NOT FIT

When the body, and mind ( adhistan ) is unfit we get tired and stressed out easily; and in addition to this our cognitive and emotional competencies are also poor. When the sense of I or ego ( karta) is dominant we become overly concerned about "my rewards", "my success", "my feelings" ;and are uncaring about others needs. This alienates are team members because we appear selfish and domineering. Add to this low knowledge levels, inadequate skills sets and an uncreative mind and all our efforts (cesatah) yield bad quality fruits. Finally misuse nature by polluting rivers and the atmosphere or depleting the forest reserves,(karana) among other forms of misuse will significantly diminish the bounties` we get from nature. Lastly, if the work is not ethical and aligned with the larger collective intelligence we disturb the balance in the system and therefore reap negative outcomes ( daivam). Now do a self-analysis and see which of the five causes of work you are neglecting, and then initiate steps to make them fit.

RULES : 1. Eat healthy, exercise and take rest regularly 2. Shed all negative baggage from your mind and become free and at peace 3. Every day without fail do unto others what you want others to do to you 4. Polish old skills, practice newly acquired skills, and learn some new every day 5. Nurture nature in every little way that you can 6. Always be "lower" then what ever is "higher" it will flow into you
