However, the class will accommodate instruction for both oil and other media so long as they lend to your practice and can be used in a safe and controlled manner. (Gamsol Oderless Mineral Spirits required for oils; you may not use any other kind of mineral spirits in the SFAI painting studios) Supports (we will address multiple surface preparations in class / each student will chose one or more for the in class project) -stretched canvas, linen, or paper -100% Rag paper, 22 x 30 180-300lb. (you will need to tape this to a drawing board or foam core and gesso it if working with oils or heavy acrylics.
