The Sanctuary Lamp will burn this week for Edna Doyle. Let Us Pray the Mass : Our Liturgy Newsletter this week is the final one on the Introductory Rites and deals with the Gloria and the Collect (or opening prayer). It reminds us that both are trinitarian in nature - the Gloria a hymn of praise to God the Father Almighty and to Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, with the Holy Spirit : - the Collect a prayer made to the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ ... who lives and reigns in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Once again there are some changes to the wording which we currently use, particularly in the Gloria which reflects a closer translation of the original Latin. These changes you can see for yourself on page 2. There is a Pastoral Letter this week from the Bishops of England and Wales on the introduction of the new missal. Welcome We welcome into Gods family Noah John Hulse who will be baptised after Mass on Sunday. The Christian Community welcomes you with great joy. Planned-Giving Envelopes : Further to the financial statement I made last week, information regarding planned-giving envelopes is provided on the attached sheet. New envelopes are available from this week for those who have already signed up and forms are at the back of church for anyone else who may want to do so. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity through your weekly giving in support of your parish. A Word of Thanks ; Rosie Whalley writes : I would like to say thank you to all who supported me on my sponsored walk on 2nd May. I appreciate all the donations and prayers offered. There will be many candles burning for you in Lourdes in July. Thank you once again for your continued support. Tea after 10 : Tea and coffee will be served in the Parish Centre after Mass this weekend rather than next. Prayers please for John Ryan and Louise Corless who will be married at Holy Trinity Church next Saturday. Last weeks collection ; Gift Aid : 345.18 Loose Plate : 273.10 Total : 618.28. Many Thanks. Question of the Week : The Holy Spirit gives us inner wisdom and strength. When have you experienced this?
