ENFOREX BUENOS AIRES

Visitors to Buenos Aires are always struck by its sophistication and European feel. A huge city with over 11 million inhabitants, it nevertheless remains safe and clean, and is the most elegant and busy metropolis in South America. As the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires represents the essence of Argentine culture, which is not surprising when you consider that 40% of the country's population lives in the city and its suburbs. The cosmopolitan nature of the Buenos Aires is ever-present in its international citizens, modern architecture, local and ethnic restaurants, shopping districts, and the attractive individuality of each neighborhood. Yet this bustling capital simultaneously manages to preserve traditions around every corner; it is the best place to see authentic tango music and dance in person. Not quite Latin, not quite European, Buenos Aires is a truly fascinating world capital that immediately draws in its visitors and makes them fall in love with all its peculiarities and charms.

AIRPORTS The Buenos Aires international airport ("Ministro Pistarini," unofficially called "Ezeiza") is 35 km from the school (about 22min). There are various private airport buses run by different companies, which cost about $14. A taxi can cost about $45. Public buses (marked "Duvi") take about 1 hours to arrive downtown and cost $6. There is also a small airport called Aeroparque which is located 4km north of the center. Ther is an airport bus for $5 (every 30 min); a public bus for $0.80; the Manuel Tienda Leon bus service for $12; or a taxi ($9.50). Enforex does offer airport pick up services to the accommodation at an extra fee (50 USD). BUSES The local buses in Buenos Aires (colectivos) are clean, frequent, efficient and fast. The ticket is paid on the bus with coins ONLY. There are different fares depending on the length of the trip, while the minimum fare is $0.70. They run 24 hours/ day. In Buenos Aires, long distance buses leave from the long distance bus station "Retiro." There are many excellent bus companies to choose from. Most of the Sleeper services are clean and comfortable. They show movies, serve snacks/drinks and sometimes entire meals. TAXIS Taxis are everywhere in Buenos Aires. Meters are used but beware: you may be taken for a little "joy ride" if you don't where you are going. Make sure that you know roughly what the fare should be before you step in The initial meter rate is $2.00 and it increases 20 cents every 200 meters. They run 24 hours/ day. SUBWAY ("SUBTE") The subway system is very reliable and it covers the center and the outskirts of the city with a combined route of 46 kilometers and 80 stations. There are five lines identified with letters (A, B, C, D and E) and it is undoubtedly the fastest way to move around the city. This subway system was the first in existence in Latin America, and it is still common to see some of the original wooden cars still running on line A (soon to be sent to a museum). The subway system runs Monday to Friday from 6am to 10pm and Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from 6am to 8pm. The price is $0.70.
