Daves pick of the month is the Grand Cru International South African Chenin Blanc. Dave recommends this unique white wine to any customer that wants a refreshing, lightly floral mid-priced wine that they can enjoy during the warm and humid days of summer. Says Dave, I like the lemony scent and how fresh and crisp it is.! I love drinking this Chenin Blanc while digging into steamed mussels or shrimp Called Steen when grown in South Africa, this graceful wine is lightbodied with a pale straw colour. The fruity scented nose has hints of green apple and lemon with a subtle floral bouquet rounding out the nose. On the palate the wine is delightfully refreshing.

Spotlight on Pinot Grigio

With the warm days of late spring and early summer upon us, it is the ideal time to enjoy this traditional European wine. The noble Pinot Gris grape is a grayishblue French wine grape variety that originates from Frances Burgundy region but is now commonly associated with both France and Italy. Pinot Grigio, or Pinot Gris as its known in France, is thought to be a mutant clone of the Pinot Noir grape. The climate where the Pinot Grigio grapes are grown impacts the flavours you may experience with the wine. For example, European Pinot Grigio wines, in particular Italian Pinot Grigio wines, tend to be light -bodied, with a crisp acidity and fairly neutral aromas, making it a very easy drinking wine that pairs well with a variety of foods. North American Pinot Grigio wines tend to be fuller-bodied than their European counterparts, with a stronger fruitiness on the palate and the nose. In fact, some California Pinot Grigio wines even have a hint of sweetness when compared to Italian Pinot Grigios. While Pinot Grigios heritage can be found in the Burgundy region, it is now commonly associated with Italy. But Pinot Grigo grapes are also grown in Australia, New Zealand, Oregon, California, and even the Ukraine! This summer, enjoy Pinot Grigio at nicely chilled with your favorite shrimp or artichoke dish. We offer the following Pinot Grigio wines: Breezin Kiwi Melon Pinot Grigio - $60 Grand Cru Pinot Grigio - $70 Cru Select Italian Pinot Grigio - $100 Argentina Tango - $105 En Primeur Trentino Italy Pinot Grigio - $138
