Yes Is the Destination; No Is How-You Get There Why One Word Is So Powerful
You wouldn't think one simple word with two tiny letters could have the power to keep countless individuals and organizations from realizing their goals and dreams. But it does, day after day, year after year. What two tiny letters can do all that? N.O. No. For many people, the word no is a brick wall standing between them and success. We polled hundreds of business professionals about their fears and motivations and the results were astounding: .. 51 percent said their biggest fear is that the customer will say "no" and reject them. .. 38 percent said the willingness to face rejection is the No.1 quality of a great salesperson.

The impact of fear of failure and rejection upon individual and team performance cannot be ignored. But what if, starting today, the word no stopped stopping you? What if every time you heard the word no you became stronger, more powerful and more resilient? And what if it turned out that the greatest success strategy in the world was not to focus on increasing your success at all, but to intentionally increase the number of times you fail?

Yes is the destination; No is the way to get there p.1; Natureworks p4; Natureworks pure cleaning concentrate p5; Some tidbits, Imagine,p7; bitron test results p.8.

In truth, the word no doesn't have to be debilitating. In fact, learning to intentionally hear the word no more often can empower you to achieve a whole-new level of greatness you never dreamed possible.

Five Steps for Turning No into a Powerful Positive

Do you start with the end in mind! 1 Are you on a journey of Self development

StarCeptor 11 Mar - Apr 11 What is your Purpose in Life. Do You have an abundance Mindset! Here are ve ways to shift the word no from being a momentum stopper to being a powerful positive in your career and your life. 1-- Change your mental model of success and failure Most people operate with the following mental model of success and failure:

SUCCESS ("Yes") <<<< YOU FAILURE ("No")

They see themselves in the middle, with success (a "yes" from the customer) on one end and failure (a "no" from the customer) on the other. As a result, they spend every waking moment trying to achieve success and avoiding failure. But to be successful in life, you don't get to choose one or the other. You have to choose both' The fact is, failure has gotten a dirty rap because most people simply think of success as good and failure as bad--complete opposites of one another. But they're not. Yes and no are not opposites; they're companions-one the hero, the other the sidekick. But, like in the movies, the hero tends to get all the glory, while the sidekick gets stuck tending to the hero's horse. To achieve sustainable success, the model should look like this: YOU FAILURE ("No") SUCCESS ("Yes") Top performers understand failure is not an obstacle but actually a steppingstone on the path to success. To reach your full potential, you must stop thinking of success and failure as being opposites, and instead merge them into the yin and yang they really are --- opposite sides of the same coin that rely and depend on one another. Rid yourself of the notion that your choice is success or failure because the choice is always success and failure. 2. Intentionally increase your failure rate. If it's true that the more we fail the more we succeed (and it is), then your immediate goal should be to intentionally increase the number of times you fail. And with this as a core philosophy, you are moving toward success with every action you take, regardless of the yes/no outcome. Now, admittedly, this is somewhat counterintuitive. But ask top performers who have achieved massive success, and they will tell you it's absolutely true. Most people would be shocked to count the times they hear "no" during a typical day or week because the number would be so low. The reality is that most people do not go out of their way to track or even increase the number of times people say "no" to them. Yet, when you go out of your way to increase the number of times you fail (the nos), the yeses will show up in greater quantities than you ever could have imagine.

StarCeptor 11 Mar - Apr 11 What is your Purpose in Life. Do You have an abundance Mindset! 3. Start setting no goals. We have all been taught the traditional approach to goal-setting for increasing sales or achieving an objective--- in other words, getting people to say "yes" to us. But what if the way to achieve massive success was actually the reverse? What if the best, most guaranteed way to get what you want was to set your goal around the number of times you hear "no" instead? Well, it is. Take the classic example of a salesperson with the goal of getting two prospects to say "yes." Monday morning he makes two calls, and closes them both. What do you think he'll do with the rest of the week? You guessed it; he'll spend it golng, going to movies or catching up on paperwork. And when the week wraps up, he'll have exactly what he planned for: two sales. Now, imagine that, rather than setting a goal for the number of yeses (in this case, two), the same salesperson had set a goal to get 10 nos. At noon on Monday, after making two calls (and closing them both), he'd actually be behind on his no-goal. And rather than slowing down his sales activity, he'd have to pick up the pace to get his 10 nos for the week. And the result? One of the best performance weeks he's ever had! 4. Celebrate your failures, not just your successes. It's natural to be excited about your successes, and it's natural to want to celebrate them, give yourself a reward, even throw a party. But if the key to success is to intentionally increase your failure rate, then it makes sense to celebrate your setbacks as well. When is the last time you rewarded yourself for failing? Probably never. Instead of mentally punishing yourself for not succeeding, buy yourself an ice cream cone and say, "Great job! I'm one step closer to success!" On the surface this sounds silly, but celebrating failure is one of the best ways to stop letting no have a negative hold on your thoughts and emotions. 5. See courage as a muscle. If failure is a vehicle that can take you to success, then courage is the fuel. But it's important to recognize that courage is a muscle. And, like any muscle, you must develop and strengthen it with lots of exercise. As the saying goes, you either use it or lose it, and it's no different with courage. The best way to develop your courage muscle is by looking fear in the face and taking action. And every time you take action, your courage muscle gets stronger. Conversely, when you don't take action, your courage muscle atrophies. And before you know it, your courage is gone. So, in these challenging times, you have a choice: to stick with the old model and seek success while Simultaneously avoiding opportunities to fail, or to change your mental model and willingly increase the number of times you fail and watch your success rate soar!
