TEACH ENGLISH IN KOREA


Internet Address: http://epik.go.kr The Korean Consulate, Commercial Section, whose mandate is to promote trade between Canada and Korea, is excited to announce the launch of a new program, CONTACT Korea. It is a program wherein the Commercial Section will assist Korean companies looking to hire high-skilled foreign personnel. In addition to high-skilled workers, CONTACT Korea is jointly connected to EPIK (Education in Korea) and therefore is inviting responsible, enthusiastic native English speakers, who are motivated to teach English in Korea. JOB TITLE: English Teacher POSITION DESCRIPTION: To assist Korean teachers with their English classes and/or jointly conduct English classes; To prepare teaching materials for English classes; To assist with the development of teaching materials related to English language education; To assist with activities related to English language education and other extracurricular activities within the place of employment; To conduct English conversational classes/courses for Korean teachers and students, and To perform other duties as designated by Employer including various English programs during the vacation. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language. - By E2 visa law, EPIK teachers should have a citizenship from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, South Africa. - Must have studied from the junior high level(7th grade) and resided for at least 10 years or more in the country where English is the primary language. - Ethnic Koreans with legal residency in a country where English is the primary language can apply, but must provide proof of English education beginning from the junior high school level. Bachelor degree (amount of pay will vary dependent on the level of education and experience accommodations and airfare are included) Be mentally and physically healthy Have a good command of the English language Have the ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and living If you are a male citizen of the Republic of Korea under the age of 35, you must have either completed mandatory military service or have received an official waiver TESOL certificate would be an asset Location of Position: South Korea, Educational Institution Contract Period: Sept, 2009 - Aug, 2010 (contract is subject to renewal thereafter) Application Deadline: Please forward resume and application form to KOTRA Toronto by 12:00 NOON on June 10th, 2009. * Take note that the positions will be filled quickly, especially in metropolitan cities, therefore applicants are advised to apply as soon as possible.
