THE PINO FAMILYS CALLING DOWN UNDER ..

Its a reality! The Lord is sending us to Australia to make disciples. Please keep us in your Prayers.
Our decision to minister in Australia, the country nicknamed A Land Down Under, has been a journey of learning to trust God. After I (Rick) graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College, I felt the Lord was tugging at our familys hearts to plant a church somewhere. However, we were not sure where God was leading us. We would pray fervently for the Lord to send us to places of real spiritual darkness such as: Indonesia, Amsterdam, or somewhere in the 10/40 window, but nothing seemed to come to fruition! Although weve been on several shortterm mission trips to various third world countries, none of those places seemed to be where the Lord was leading us. Then God began to answer our prayers of where we should go, through a series of different scriptures. One verse that particularly impressed upon my heart was, So they read distinctly from the book, in the Law of God; and they gave the sense, and helped them to understand the reading Neh 8:8., In the Book of Nehemiah, God used Ezra the Scribe, to help the people make sense of Gods Word. These people were so hungry to understand the Word of God they assembled themselves together to listen to a sermon...that lasted 6 hours! As Ezra continued to teach, the people began to weep as the Spirit of God brought a revival and understanding through the simple teaching of Gods Word. I felt that God was speaking to me through this verse to go and plant a church where people love God, yet are deprived of solid Bible teaching ...questioned still remained, where?

Although we knew we were to go we still did not have a clear idea where to go. I then read Josh 1:9 which states, Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. This verse was so powerful to us because it was God basically saying, wherever you choose to go Ill be with you. God was giving us an open door to go wherever we wanted and He promised to go with us. This opened our eyes to a place that we overlooked, a place that was right in front of us the whole time, Australia! When we prayed about going to Australia, everything seemed to come together. We had been married in Australia to be near Tabathas family. While on our honeymoon there we were able to see the need for the Gospel on the streets.

We saw many people in their 20s and 30s desperately in need of a Savior. We also attended church and saw that there was very little Bible teaching. As we later reflected upon all that we experienced while we were in Australia we realized that this is where we were meant to be. Also, we were able to see many practical aspects of going there. For instance, since English is the national language, we dont have to learn a new language. Visas were no problem since Tabatha was raised in Australia (She immigrated there from New Zealand when she was very young). I was able to obtain permanent residency, and our son Kohen (2 yrs old) and our daughter

Adelyn (7 mo.) were automatically granted citizenship. With all of these open doors we took action and are now ready to act upon Gods calling on our lives. Our goal is to move near the Gold Coast which is a coastal city in South East Australia. Our desire is to make disciples and grow a church that will fall in love with Gods word. We plan to do this by building relationships and hosting bible teaching home fellowships. During the weekends, we plan to go witnessing on the streets and pass out tracks and invitations to our Bible studies. We desire to be like spiritual Marines and engage in the spiritual battle as God leads. This battle will be fought not by our own humanly wisdom and We want to show the people of Australia the love of Jesus Christ might, but by the power and and what He did for them on the leading of the Holy Spirit! cross.

We would like to invite everyone to pray for us while we are in Australia. We covet your prayers more than any type of financial support. Without prayer were useless out there. We have recently experienced extreme spiritual warfare due to our soon departure and we ask you to not forget about us in prayer. We would also be blessed by your support financially. I plan to work full time in Australia until the ministry does not allow time for me to work a regular schedule. However, our start- up costs are tremendous. Though we had money saved, a couple of months ago, my company went out of business owing me an equivalent of 4 months worth of work. Although, it was not expected, this incident encouraged us to share our needs with you as we prepare to leave in September 2011.

Many of the costs we have will be one-time costs (which totals aprox. $10,000), but any ongoing support will be saved and used for the expansion of the ministry.
