PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Happy Fall Members! It is time again for our annual state meeting, where we can fellowship with other members from throughout the state as well as meet with company representatives and build those relationships that are so important in our industry. I know Durham has prepared a great meeting for us and I look forward to seeing all of you there. I am very impressed with the recent turn out at our meetings- everyone is doing a great job on getting those perspective members in the door! Keep letting your light shine and attracting other potential members to our meetings. If you will not be at the meeting on 10/13 please send me your committee reports so that I can present them for you, everyone has been very active in their positions and I know I speak for all members when I say we truly appreciate the hard work and dedication you give to your association. Remember as with anything else, you get as good as you give. Give a lot get a lot, give a little get a little. Pecans are still on sale- make sure you are advertising to all of your friends, co-workers, and family. See you all on 10/13- bring your business cards and wear your name tag- we are going to be networking. Kelly Bryant, CISR President

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to 'honor' thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters ?' Without missing a beat one little boy, the oldest of a family, answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'

MINUTES OF THE RALEIGH ASSOCIATION OF INSURANCE PROFESSIONALS September 8, 2009 The associations annual picnic event was tonight welcoming guests & new members to RAIP. The nights events started with a picnic dinner including barbecue and fried chicken as our main dish. Members and guest brought all the sides and desserts. She talked about the importance of the association in her life and encouraged guests to join and new members to get involved. The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: 'Take only ONE. God is watching.'

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples..'
